Homecoming Week

~two months later~

Cheerleading practice has been going great. Our first performance is at the prep-rally on friday and then we cheer at the game later on. Obviously.

I was at my locker getting my books for my last class when someone comes from behind me and yells boo right in my ear. I don't jump or anything Landyn and my cousin did it all the time to me so I'm used to it. I just close my locker and turn around to see some guy on the basketball team standing there behind me.

"Is that suppose to be scary? Like seriously are we 2?" I asked raising a perfectly drawn in eyebrow.

"Umm-uh" was all he said with his face heating up and his friends laughing on the other side of the hall, till Nate came up behind him.

"Is he bothering you babe?" He asked. He's been calling me babe since last month it's kinda weird but at the same time I like it. 

"No he's not boo-boo. Lets go to class. I don't wanna be late." I said and pulled on his arm. He follows till we make a turn and he stops me.

"What's wrong?" I asked looking at him confused yet worried at the same time. Did something happen to him? Is he hurt? Or worse yet. Is he in trouble?

"Nothing. I just wanted to see you." He says. I feel my face heating up and look away.

"Look at me. You don't need to hide your blush from me. I think it looks cute on you." He said lifting my head up with a finger.

"You're so cheesy!" I yelled and smacked his chest playfully.

"Did you hear Anna got hurt and will be out the rest of the year? Their looking for a new captain. You wouldn't happen to know anyone interested would you?" He said and puts an arm on my shoulder and walks off.

"I don't know.  I could take them to championship like my last team. But I don't know about this team. Some don't  like me cause we always hang out." I said looking straight ahead.

"Well I'll talk to them if you want?" he ask/said.

"No. I'll try out and if they say no then they lose the chance on making it to championship." I said and we went to our last class. 7th period thank God!!

After School

"Ok. You guys know I'm out for the rest of the year and I'm holding captain tryouts. So if you wanna try out step forward explain your reason and you need to have a cheer ready to perform." Anna said.

Me and Sarah stepped forward. Anna turned to Sarah next to me. She explains why and she nodded and turns to me.

"Why do you want the captains position?" Anna asked.

"Well last year I was captain at my old school and I took them to the championship and we won. I'm a good leader and the moves I do are simple yet dangerous. Which got my team the win and on the cover of Cheers Magazine." I said. Her expression changed.

"Wait that was you?!" She asks walking up to me with her crutches. I nodded.

"You 2 have to cheer. Who ever does the best cheer gets the claim the position. I'll play a song twice the first time you listen to it and come up with a routine and the second time you perform." She says. She plays Ed Sheeran Shape of You. Its easy to come up with the routine. 

Sarah went first cause well she just did. After she went I went, I did a cheer for the whole song while she could barely do one for half the song. Anna pulled a girl to the side and they had a 10 minute discussion. Sarah glared at me as we waited and honestly I've gotten used to all the girls glaring at me weather their my friends or not. After their almost 10 minute discussion they came back to us. The girl folding her arms across her chest as Anna just walked normally. Or as normal as you can with crutches.
