"You know, I would rather stay at home and watch Netflix and-"

" And Chill with your imaginary boyfriend Zac Efron?" My best friend Lauren interrupts.

"You know, I was just going to say that I would stuff my face with cheese popcorn, but this seems like a better idea to me. " I teased.

She stuck out her tongue at me.

"I'm just saying. Senior year starts tomorrow and I would like to enjoy my freedom while I can. "

"No you can't . Come on! It will be fun!"
She gave me those stupid puppy dog eyes.

I rolled my eyes.
"Fine. It better be fun."

We walked together towards the entrance of the fair.

Every year, our town would host an annual fair. I had been here once or twice.

The fair was huge. There would be a lot of people present here buying cotton candy or playing the numerous games.
I could see little kids crying because their mothers weren't allowing them to buy candy.
Couples were lined up near the ferris wheel looking at each other with adore filled eyes.

"Ooh! Lets go here!" Lauren practically dragged to me to a counter.

On it were the words- The Kissing Booth.
There was an old lady sitting at the counter.

"Oh hello dears. Sign your name and write down your number. If you're the lucky winner, your number will be given to the boy."

Lauren squealed in delight and wrote down her name and number.

"Lav, you write too!"
I looked at her as though she was crazy.

"No! I don't want to do this stupid thing!"

Cue the puppy dog face.
This girl will be the death of me.

I wrote down the details and gave a sarcastic smile to my stupid friend.

"Well, that wasn't so tough."She giggled.

The old lady then gave us a number each.
"We will call you by your number. Be attentive girls."

I smiled at her and nodded.
I had the number 17.

"Let's get some food. I'm hungry. "I said as I eyed the cupcakes that were on display.

"You're already hungry?" Lauren asked.

"Yeah, all this talking is making me hungry.

She just chuckled in response.
I bought myself three chocolate cupcakes.

I was on my third when I heard a voice on the announcement say,"Number 17 and 42. Please come to the kissing booth."

The cupcake fell out of my mouth. No way!
Lauren looked at me then squealed.
"That's your number! Go!"

Holy cheeseballs! I can't believe this! I unconsciously walked towards the counter. The old lady smiled at me.

"Now honey, don't be shy. The young man is handsome indeed."

I didn't care if he was handsome or not! Stupid Lauren always getting me into situations like these.

"So uh how long do we have to kiss? " I asked.

"Around two minutes dear. Are you sure you want to do this? You look a little pale."

Two whole fricking minutes with a guy I don't even know!

"I'm fine."
Lie

The old lady put a blindfold around my eyes and led me to a dark room.
