Picture to the side is Lauren.

"Hey girl,  can you come to the library with me? I need to pick out a book."
Lauren asked.

I was currently sitting in my room and completing my math homework when I heard my phone buzz.

"The library?  Hun, you do know that I never visit the library unless it's to pick out something for an assignment. "

"But pleasee! I'll get you ice cream! I need someone to go with!"

I sighed. "Okay fine. One book and we are out."

"Yes yes! Thank you Lavy!"
I cringed. I hated that nickname and she knew it.

"Come out now. Im right outside your house." Lauren said.

"Wait. How did you know I was going to say yes? "

"You're really predictable. You can't say no to my beautiful self."

"Shut up or I'll change my mind."
I hung the phone.

I rushed out of the house after putting my shoes on.

I spotted her car in front of my driveway and hopped in it.

"To the library!" Lauren yelled.
I groaned. Ugh. Why did I come.

-----

The library was a little crowded. So when people from my school saw me enter the library,  their jaws dropped.

"What? Can't a girl come to a library? " I snapped.

They looked away from me and continued to do whatever they were doing.

Lauren dragged me to an aisle.
She was a helpess romantic who believed in castles and princes and a happily ever after.  I tried to explain to her that this was the real world and that a love story ended up with the girl getting amnesia who couldn't remember the boy or with a tragic break up.

But she wouldn't budge.
Some day, she'll find out the hard way.

"How about this book?" Lauren whispered.
Oh right. It was a library.

I saw the cover which said,  The Fault in our stars.

I heard it was a really sad book. The guy died or something.

"Sure. Why not."
I said.

"Hey Lav, why don't you find a book for yourself?"

I groaned. "No way. Pick your book and let's go."

She gave me the puppy dog face.
"Fine." I gritted out.

I turned sharply around and tried to look for the murder mysteries. I actually find those books entertaining.

"Oof." I said as I found myself stumbling back.

"Oh god. Are you alright? I'm sorry."

I looked up to see a boy. And oh llama. He was cute. With brown messy hair and glasses that hid his bright green eyes.

"Oh um yeah. I'm fine." I said and I regained my composure.

"Sorry about that. I'm new here. My name is Hayes Carter. And who might you be?"

"I'm Lavender Hastings." I nodded.

He gave me a shy smile. Awww. He was so cute!

"So uh do you come here often?" Hayes asked.

I snorted. "Not really. My friend forced me to come with her and-"

"Shh! No talking is permitted in the library." A short stocky woman said.

I rolled my eyes. Whatever. I waved goodbye to Hayes and continued my search of a book.
This was going to take a  long time.

------

I heard my phone vibrate. I was doing some yoga with music blasting in the room.

I wiped my brow with a napkin and picked up my phone.

A lot of people don't share my music taste. I love The Fray and The Cab. Lauren however loves pop songs. She is a huge fan of Ellie Goulding.

I was thinking about you.
You know, I never caught your name.

I decided to text him back.

To: Theamazingkisser
That's because I never threw it.

From: Theamazingkisser
Feisty. I like that.
So you're never going to tell me your name?

To: Theamazingkisser
Nah. I think I'm good.
;)

Oh my gosh. Where was this sudden surge of flirting coming from?
In my school you don't have any hot guy. I mean nada. None. Nil.

It's so sad to know that other schools have like hot bad boys and jocks.
However,  there is one boy that people fantasize over. And that's Jesse.

If I think about it, he is actually pretty good looking with his golden brown tousled hair and cobalt blue eyes. But his annoying personality ruined it.

Its a shame, really.
Jesse is not a player though. He had two serious girlfriends and that's it. He is quite close to Kasey and rumour says that they like each other. But who knows. I've learned not to trust rumours. Personal experience. Been there, done that.
People do not realise how hurtful rumours could be. I wish they would understand that.
