Chapter 5

I looked back and it was Zac ! Not paying attention to where I was looking I crashed into a bench

"Ouch ! Man why do I keep getting hurt?!" I said with a little pain in my voice

"Haha I don't know but you seemed so interested in something ." She said as she helped me up .

"Well that guy the one who hit me.....Zac! is in there and well I was just curious to see why he was here."

"Ana it's a mall who wouldn't come here ? Now let's go before you get even more injured."

We went back to Katie's house and filled out our applications .

I sat on the couch and looked down at my application .

"So Katie how does mine look? " I passed her my application.

"Well it looks right...? I don't know I've never done this! "

Suddenly we heard a noise out in Katie's backyard .CRASH!

"Katie was that steph? " steph is her cat he's a trouble maker sometimes

"Nope he's sleeping upstairs should we go check it out?" She said with a shaky voice

"You can go check ill stay here in the safe house." I joked as I opened the back door.

"Haha very funny don't get yourself pushed into that pool now!"

I slowly turned to the corner and saw David

"What the fuck David? Why are you sneaking around?"

"Uhm you guys weren't here so I jumped the fence and was about to climb into katies room." He explained

"David you're paying for that" Katie said pointing to the broken pot

"Yeah yeah I will , so what's up with not inviting me?"

"Well we just went to find a job and uhm ....."I paused

"Ana don't tell me you applied for footlocker /.- "

"Oops? Haha I know you didn't want us working with you but it'll be fun three best friends working in a shoe store together" I poked at his sides

" Chris ? Yeah I knew he would do that . Okay but ill drive us to work if you guys want?"

David was 16 already turning 17 he was held back but he was actually smart he was bad as a kid and had to start over with EVERYTHING and maybe the reason all of us are best friends is because we all have a problem going on with either ourselves or others .

"Yeah thanks so the injury won't get any worse ." David looked down at my leg and his facial expression looked a little worried .

"How? You know you can't dance or play soccer if it gets any worse and we all know you can't live without dancing and soccer "

he said he could see it in my eyes that I needed to be careful because those two things are what keep me going . He knows it more than anyone .

There was a short silence . Mainly because Katie didn't know what to say she wasn't as close as David an I were but she felt like it was just between us.

"So let's take these applications? " she said awkwardly

"Yeah let's go ! I know Chris will have you guys on a job for sure!"

We walked out and drove to the mall.
