Chapter 4

Iris woke up with a jolt, gasping as she felt herself moving. Memories from earlier flooded back into her mind. Her eyes frantically searched left and right, whilst analysing in the scenario right now. She was in a car, recognising it to be Ms Shiplly's car. A familiar, deep voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Ah, I see your awake" The still hooded figure from before said, whilst driving in this oddly empty road.

"Who are you and where are you taking me?" Iris demanded. Strangely, instead of being scared she still felt calm -peaceful even- like earlier. His deep chuckle vibrated in the car.

"You can call me Kian, and I'm taking you to a better place" He softly said. Iris scoffed while gripping her seat slightly, because of the little, and suspicious, information she got.

"Well then why are we in Ms Shiplly's car?" Iris -again- demanded, tone harsher from the annoyance she felt before. After hearing her, Kian raised an eyebrow, glancing over to her for a second, then looking back to the road.

"Well your a sharp one aren't you? Well, if you must know..." Kian chuckled, eyes glowing violet and a purple mist started to encase Iris. She gasped in fright, then glared at Kian as her vision slowly faded to darkness, another scene then replacing it.

'(Kian P.O.V)

I gazed at Iris, who was peacefully laying on the bed, a few magenta locks was let loose from the bun, settling on her face and pillow. I brushed the strands out of her face.

"Here's her bag" Avilia whispered, careful not to disturb the young girl.

"Thanks" I whispered back, just as softly, as I slung the surprisingly light bag over my shoulder, preparing to lift her up again.

"How you taking her back?" Avilia questioned.

"I don't know..." I mumbled in reply, not meeting her eye. It's quite ironic really, I've done this since I was 17, yet I still forget to bring any way of transport, to get to the academy. 

"Aish, here..." Ms Shiplly muttered, throwing me a pair of car keys.

"Make sure to bring it back after though, I need it for the kids"

"Thanks" I said, as I glanced down then back up to her face. A loud creak suddenly was heard. Avilia and I whipped our heads toward the entrance, finding a startled young boy. Looking over to Ms. Shiplly, I saw her pale blue eyes go soft.

"I-is Riri re-really going" The young boy sniffled, a stray tear slowly falling down his chubby cheek. Ms. Shipllys footsteps echoed in the room and she knelt down to his height, placing a gentle hand over his cheek, wiping away the tear.

"Unfortunately yes dear, it's for the best. But your going to have to be a strong boy for her, that's what men do. Your want to be a man right?" The blonde haired woman whispered to the boy. He nodded, his messy, brown tufts flying up and down as he did so. But after, hewalked straight past Avilia and toward Iris, surprising her.

As he drew nearer, the brown haired boy grabbed a piece of paper out his pocket, placing it in Iris pocket and proceeding to hug her.

"You never told them the tooth fairy was real, Iris" He whispered, more tears streaming down his small face, some landing on Iris shirt.'

"I'll stop there since I don't want to see any more tears today" His voice said, interrupting the flashback. Baffled, Iris reached up to her cheeks, gasping as she felt it damp. Quickly wiping away the tears with her sleeves, she avoided Kain's eyes. An awkward silence filled the air, each person not knowing what to say.

Lush, green trees kept flying past, the sun high up in the clear sky. Giggles suddenly escaped Iris' lips, confusing Kian and he kept shooting questioning glances her way.

"Whenever there is an awkward silence, a gay baby is born" Iris replied, trying to hold in her laughter but failing miserably. Soon Kain joined in the laughter, chuckling at her wierdness, and happy that the awkwardness was over. A comfortable silence soon replaced the laughter, each person a lot more happier before. However, over time, Iris was growing increasingly bored and fidgety.

Trying to find something to distract her, Iris' golden eyes peered to the right, taking in Kain's appearance, that she could now see. He had pitch black hair, darker then a ravens feather. His eyes where a deep purple, a lighter violet swirling around the circular orbs, and a small beauty mark was placed under his right eye. What he was wearing a similar to Iris, Hoodie and sweatpants. All in all, He looked quite young.

A very large shadow suddenly loomed over the car, encasing it in darkness and surprising Iris out of her little trance for the nth time today. Looking out the window and up, Iris discovered something that shocked her.

A huge, whale like creature hovered above her head, Its large, fins gracefully lifting up and down at a slow, common pace. Its colour was a dirty white. Faded blue, circular patterns running along the side, with a cold blue glow emitting from them. Moss covered its sides, few flowers sprouting from it, in colours from blue, to purple. It was beautiful.

Iris was speechless. Thinking she was still asleep, dreaming, Iris pinched herself. More started joining it, slowly going forward, each one varying in size and shape. A loud hum vibrated through the air, shaking trees, scaring birds and surprising Iris even more then she was. They soon pulled up to a large black gate, a much larger academy behind it.

"Welcome... To Avafrea Academy, Iris"

I just realised these couple of chapters I keep using flashbacks... I'm sorry!!! I'll try to use less in the future hehe... Also, sorry it's a bit shorter then others, To be honest I don't know why. I thinks it's cause I'm sick again.... ARGHFBERGBV. And finally about the gay baby bit, I saw this somewhere and thought it was hilarious so I included it, trying to add a bit of humour to all the seriousness, its in no way homophobic or anything like that. I love gay people! wAiT that sounds offensive too WAIT

Anyway they're finally here! Constructive criticism is fine and will help me write but no hateful comments, that's just low dude.
