mediocris - fairy in latin

Pixie's are nice creatures. Gentle, loving and all the want is good. However they are simple-minded, and that comes with a price. Similar to ants, if feeling threatened or you do something that they believe is wrong, a swarm will come for you, and that swarm will get you.

Warning: Swearing

Shock was evident on my face. To say this place was beautiful was an understatement.  It was huge. Those whale like beasts hovered in the air, drifting along with the wind. But even more strange beings started joining them, air and ground.

White foxes waltzed along the soft grass, 4 long and majestic tails following each one along. Small, black sprite like creatures ran in flocks, so fast that all I could see was a blur. Large multi-coloured horses, from the colours blood red to a sky blue, elegantly ran beside them, their long manes floating around them, and a long, sharp horn perched upon the middle of it's forehead. Light green pixies danced among the piles of fallen leaves, joy written all over there faces.

But I must not forget the amount of people as well. There were a lot, and they were all in there own separate groups, like any normal school, and many looked like the average person you would see everyday. But of course that would be weird, if we saw all these strange creatures with normal, average humans, wouldn't it?

From half-animal half-humans; floating bodies in the air, and strangely coloured species to average looking people controlling plants; some making objects appear out of nowhere and so much more that you thought wasn't possible.

"Avafrea... Academy?" I muttered, name sounding foreign on my tongue.

"The place you'll now be learning, eating, sleeping and staying out for a while now" Kain answered me. I whipped my head toward him, shock, anger, sadness swirling in my eyes. But between those emotions lay a spark of hope. Maybe, just maybe, it might be different from the life I'm used to.

"And why should I trust this place, or you. Why haven't  I even heard about it?" I muttered again, glancing over to the man next to me, who I only met, what... 24 hours ago?

"One, you just spent 2 hours with me in a car AND Ms. Shipply was apparently fine with me just taking you, even giving me your clothes. Two, this place is a meant to be unknown to the public eye, otherwise it would cause a lot of trouble. You should know that. Besides, haven't you heard about those with 'amazing abilities' in war on the news lately? " He answered with amusement.

"So? You might do something to me now? Why should I trust this place!" I retorted back.

"And I don't watch TV, we didn't have one." I quietly muttered, adding to before. A embarrassed blush started to glow on my cheeks.

"Because there are people like you here, we can help you control those abilities of yours Iris" He answered, all amusement leaving his face. He looked genuine, but there was a glint in his eyes that I couldn't decipher.

However, a shadow covered my face as soon as he said that. I don't want to control them. I don't want them at all.

They have something to do with my past, I know it. Which is why I don't want to anything to do with them. I don't want more pain, for others or myself.

I said nothing as I silently walked forward, showing him I didn't want to talk about it any more and wanted to carry on. His face showed sympathy as I did so, but that angered me more. I don't want any pity, I just want these stupid fucking abilities gone.

I heard his footsteps quicken slightly behind me, trying to catch up with my fast pace, but I carried on, not bothering to slow down. He'll catch up to me anyway.

Unknown P.O.V

A cool breeze blew across my face, my short white locks lifting slightly with it. My eyes scanned across my group of friends, data I already knew appearing it. I moved my hand up to the side of my face, tapping twice on my temples. A light, soft blue glow emitted for a second, but went away almost instantly. My neon blue orbs drifted across the group again, as I started to daydream anything and everything.

"Raiden, what do you think?" A soft child-like voice sounded out.

I turned my head in the direction the voice came from. A small female came into my view. She had soft ginger hair, cascading to the middle of her back, delicately floating in the soft breeze.  She was upon the lap of a taller, older girl, this time with ashy, dark blonde hair pulled up in a high ponytail and bangs covering her forehead.

Lina Anika, 10 years of age. Been in the academy for 1 and a half years. Class Zen, 7.

Elanor Odensa, 18  years of age. Been in the academy since she was 12 and hates it. Class Zen, 3.

"So?" Lina asked again, growing impatient by the minute, annoyance spreading across her features.

"About what?" I asked, a sheepish look on my face that did not suit the usual monotone voice I had.

"Ughh El!!" The small girl whined, looking up to the older girl she sat on.

"What do you think of this 'new girl' we've been hearing about?" The girl -nicknamed El- instantly replied, also growing slightly annoyed at my behaviour.

"Well I don't know, I haven't met the person nor do we know if this is real or not" I said, again in my monotone voice.

"Well I just hope she's hot!" Someone said next to me, a grin stretching across his face.

Blake Jackson, 17 years of age, soon to be 18. Class Zen, 6.

"How do you know it's going to be a she" Another feminine voice retorted back.

Lilliana Hudson. 17 years of age. Class Zen, 8.

"Cause I do" He replied, mischief swirling in his orange eyes.

A fight going to start between group of friends again. Sigh, I tuned them out not wanting to deal with them. Instead, I paid attention to the scenery for once. Of course no one was here, to scared to come near us for being the 'top'. It was quite peaceful though. We were sat under a large cherry blossom tree, it's petals gracefully floating down, softly landing on the freshly cut blades of grass. Pixies and foxes surrounded us, some perched in one place and watching, some dancing with the falling petals.

As I was looking around, I noticed to figures. Tapping my forehead twice again, I looked closer. It was Kain, with a girl I've never seen before.

She was young, 17.

5 foot 6 inches in height.

Long, magenta hair with piercing golden orbs. Looking my way.

Our gazes locked, and everything surrounding me seemed to stop. I got lost in her eyes, so many emotions were swirling deep within them. My breathe was taken away as my data went into overdrive. Who was she?

Why do I feel like this?

Iris P.O.V

Who is this he?

Why do I feel like this?
