"Can you believe Farkle's never been to an all-night carnival?" Riley asked her best friend, lathering on bright pink lipgloss whilst looking at her reflection in the mirror as she did so.

Maya lifted her arms over her head, taking her Rolling Stones t-shirt with her, left standing in her neon green bra. "Considering his experience with the world?" She reached for a pre-placed shirt on her brunette friend's bed as she talked. "Yes."

The "core four" had assembled their list of things to do this summer around a week ago, and (having agreed to do the list in order) spent all that time searching for a carnival that was open from late night to early morning - due to Farkle writing going to something like this as his first activity on their bucket list.

Now, Riley and Maya were in the brunette's bedroom, picking out their outfits for tonight's fun.

"True." Riley mused, comparing two pairs of patterned leggings to her plain black shirt. "Hey, Maya, do you think flowers or stripes would work better with this top?"

Maya, who had just finished pulling on her own top (which was a neon purple color and ripped on the sides, so part of her bra showed in a trendy fashion), examined the two pairs of pants. "Flowers." She decided, grabbing a pair of plain black leggings from the same location her shirt had been in, and pulling those on as well.

Riley nodded. "That's what I was thinking." She removed the pants she currently wore and replaced them with the winning leggings.

"You all ready?" Maya asked, having just finished applying the last of her mascara - thus completing her makeup look.

"I will be once you do my eyeliner." Riley said with a small grin, holding up said eyeliner between her forefinger and thumb.

Maya rolled her eyes, though smiling, and took the tube from her friend's hand. "You really need to learn to do this yourself." She chuckled, as Riley closed her eyes instinctively, having done this with Maya many times before.

"I will," the brunette said, trying (and failing) not to move at all, "Once I don't have you."

"Then I guess you'll never learn to." Maya muttered, running the black tip over Riley's eyelids. "Would you stop blinking?" Maya scowled at the shaky line she'd ended up producing. "I keep messing up."

"Sorry," mumbled Riley, staying still as Maya fixed it, then did the other eye with ease.

"There." Maya said, pulling away from her friend and capping the eyeliner. Riley opened her eyes. "You look perfect."

"Always do." Riley joked.

Her friend laughed, and together, they linked arms and walked out of Riley's room, giggling with each step.

Cory was in the kitchen, cooking eggs for Riley's little brother, Auggie. He turned as the two girls entered the kitchen. "Wowie!" He grinned widely. "You two look fantastic!"

Auggie turned to look at his older sister and her best friend. "Hubba-bubba!" He said jokingly, holding his hand over his chest as he fell to the floor.
