"So what happened next?" Jane asked as she slid turquoise-blue beads through a string and hung ruby charms before inserting another bead as a pattern.

"Nothing," I shrugged.

"We just... hung out. He was more interested in his past self than he thought he would be. He didn't even seem fazed when I told him that we were married and I was pregnant that time."

"But?"

"But what?"

"I hear a 'but' hanging at the end of the sentence. There's more." She was sharp as hell, even when she multitasked.

I hesitated.

"Spit it out."

"I didn't tell him that I loved him."

She paused from working on the piece of jewellery she was making to look up at me.

"What? Why didn't you?"

I sighed, exasperated with the questions.

"I don't want that to distance us when I just got him back! What would you say to your soulmate whom you've just met that you both were married and in love?"

"Eh...," she looked back down at her DIY item, slotting in some more charms and beads.

"I don't know."

I rolled my eyes.

"Then don't ask why I never told him."

A knock on Jane's door had me jumping up from Jane's bed and the beads on the bed bounced on it a little. Jane just simply looked up.

"Relax, it's my mom."

"Oh hey Aunt Heidi." I quickly said.

"Girls, I'm having my monthly barbecue gathering tomorrow. You can invite your friends if you'd like to." She told us.

"Okay."

"Sure."

Jane & my responses were mumbled out and Heidi cocked an eyebrow at us before closing the door again.

"Barbecue," Jane muttered under her breath.

"Friends. Huh."

"You don't have friends?" I asked, sitting back down.

"Never really did. My pancakes stick around longer than friends." She said.

I laughed at her.

"I like what you just said."

"Oh my god." She suddenly widened her eyes in realisation about something.

"You can invite Edward!"

"What?" I stared at her blankly.

"No."

"Alright, fine. I'll get Alec to invite him then." She smirked.

I glared at her.

"No."

She rolled her eyes, sighing.

"Okay, fine. Because I don't need him to."

I pushed her a little by the shoulder.

"Are you serious?"

"Nope." She replied, popping in one last charm before she tied up the long string into a bracelet. She grabbed my arm and attached it to my wrist, then let it go.

"This one's yours."

A small smile broke out from my face.

"Thanks." I fiddled with the bracelet for a while.
