Whilst all this was going on, Yuki sat in a tree. His long and thin legs swung lazily. His crisp white shirt billowed in the breeze. His brand new pair of denim jeans were coated with snowflakes.
He tugged absent-mindedly on the grey scarf Himi had given him. Though he didn't feel the cold, he had gracefully accepted it.
'My first gift from my lover.' Yuki smiled to himself.
He stood up, and a shower of snow spiralled around his hands until a long staff with a blue stone on top appeared into his hands.
He leapt from the tree. He landed in the snow. He was in the Winter Land.
'I remember when I first sent Himi here, in her dream.' he smirked to himself.
He began to stroll, mulling over many things. Where was Frost and Medio? How was Medley? How was Desunoto in that prison cell?
'Well I am about to find out soon.' he reached a 2 storey, stone castle. It looked abandoned, until a man dressed in white fur capes ran out the iron gates.
"Master Yuki!!! Terrible news!!!"
"Turuva! Slow down, and please I hate your human form."
Turuva scowled, and his cape began to latch onto his skin. His nose grew longer, his eyes turned black. Finally, he was a fully grown Polar Bear.
"The prisoner...he escaped!"
Yuki scowled and turned away. "Stay here with the army Turuva. I know where that idiot is."
He ran through the snowy woods. His feet kicked up the snow, he bulldozed at lightning speed.
He reached the little cottage. He noticed Medley through the window. She was smiling to herself and kneading dough.
He knocked on the door, and she opened it. She was beaming and looked lovely in her apron.
"Oh Yuki!" she stepped aside and he gratefully stepped inside. "Make yourself at home."
He sat slowly onto a couch beside the kitchen. "Desunoto dropped by?"
"Yes. He left about 10 minutes ago." she held nothing back.
"You're so honest. Like Frost." smiled Yuki.
"What did you expect? I am his mother after all." laughed Medley.
"But how...your 'dad' and 'aunt', how did you-"
A spiral of snow appeared, and Medley's dad stood there in the flesh. Then he dissolved into nothingness.
"I have my ways." laughed Medley. Yuki grinned.
"No wonder you didn't age."
"Yes, no wonder. So...how's Frost."
"I think of him as my brother...so he's annoying, domineering and steals my wooden staff ALL the time." Laughed Yuki. Medley grinned and turned back to her dough.
"Well I'm glad he has someone who cares so deeply for him. And I apologise greatly for Desunoto attacking Medio in her sleep. He just wanted to strike back at Frost since he knew she was his heart."
"Yeah well...I'll tell Medio when I actually find her and Frost." sighed Yuki and looked up at Medley expectedly.
"Frost doesn't even know I am alive Yuki. I have no idea where he is." sighed Medley sadly.
Yuki soon after left the cottage, and walked on through the woods. Snow laden trees, fresh snow, lint like snowflakes...beautiful. Finally, Yuki reached a bench at the edge of the forest with a burning lamp beside it. A vast white and hazy expanse lay before him.
He smiled fondly, and sat on the bench, a mimicked holding a parasol. Like Himi when she first arrived. A train horned in the distance, and rail way tracks began appearing on the ground. He caught sight of the old fashioned thing tooting towards him. But he leapt into the air and landed on the roof of the train carriage. any more carriages followed after his.
He stood proud and tall until a tunnel loomed ahead. He lay flat until they'd passed through. Finally the train turned into the woods. He leapt off and ran through them until he reached a mirror in the ground. It reflected the grey sky and trees above it. Snow covered it's edges.
"Hey lil bro." he turned to see Frost leaning against a tree smiling at him.
Yuki beamed and raced over to hug him. The two embraced awhile. "Hey Minty."
"Still have that ridiculous nickname for me?"
"It's your fault your hair is mint green." the two sat down on the snow.
"How did you know I'll be here?" asked Frost nonchalantly.
"This was where my dad first told you that you were gonna be a part of our family. Plus the place where you first met me."
Frost ruffled Yuki's white blonde hair affectionately. "I'm glad you are back lil bro. I thought I'd lost everyone I cared about after you left for the human world."
"No way, you'll always have me Minty. And you have Medio." Yuki wiggled his eyebrows at his brother. Frost laughed happily, all spite and malice gone from his face. Yuki guiltily remembered Nana Higgin's words when she first cleansed Frost's heart. Now he was a different person when he was away from Medio.
"Yeah I do like her a bit."
"I hope you haven't been molesting her. My girlfriend and her best friend will kill you."
"Ooooo that chick that looks like your mum is officially yours huh? Well..." Frost looked sad and looked away, "I always loose control with Medio. I become angry, murderous...I don't know that person."
Yuki finally told Frost everything. About how Medley was still alive. How he had cleansed his heart with Nana Higgin's help. About Imato's body being controlled. About Desunoto really being his father.
Frost was silent. "How do you know of all this?"
Yuki replied, "Dad told me when I was little."
Frost nodded slowly, "So mum...was sent HERE. To the FUTURE of back then which is now. And no wonder I feel so angry around Medio. And Desunoto..." suddenly anger flooded his face. "I don't give a damn whether he is my father or not. I still want revenge."
'I don't get it,' thought Yuki feverishly, 'his emotions should be completely sealed up.'
Frost stood quickly. "Sorry Lil Bro, but I gotta leave."
Yuki quickly stood. "Can't you just let Medio see her friends?"
"That would not be wise. I might get angry around them. I don't want to hurt them too." Frost turned teary eyed to Yuki. "Protect those you love lil bro."
"Will do Minty."
Frost smiled before quickly asking "And about the Guardian thing-"
Yuki raised his hand and a blue light enveloped Frost before dying away. "You are the only person besides myself who I want to be guardian of winter. Okay?"
Frost nodded, then sped away into the woods.
