I walked up to the stone that's been here since a year ago. I remember it like it was yesterday, that horrible night.
I was going to my friend Zach's party that night with my boyfriend Hunter. Zach's one of the popular kids at school- he hangs out with all the YouNow famous people like Edwin Burgos, Nick Bean, ect. He's YouNow famous himself.
Anyway, Hunter and I were having a great time, all of our friends were there, bla bla bla.
Habits of My Heart came on, and everyone was looking for their dates to dance with. I was talking to my friend Karlee, when Hunter came up to me.
"Let's dance," he whispered in my ear. I smiled at him, and he pulled me onto the dance floor. Hunter and I have been dating for a year now. I'm only 16, but I could say our relationship is pretty serious. We love each other, and we'll never stop.
When the song was over, Hunter put my arms around him. But why?
"Emma, have you ever thought about how no one lives forever?" He asked me, out of the blue. We'd never had this conversation before.
"We're 16, Hunter. Why are you worried about this?" I replied. I had no idea where this was going.
"I don't know." He bit his lip.
"Hunter, is there something you're not telling me? What's going on? How much beer did you drink tonight?!?!"
"I didn't drink. Calm down, we just need to get out of here," he whispered. He's never acted like that before! What the hell!
"Why?!"
"Because they're here. To get you."
No. This couldn't be happening. People were out to get me? And I thought I'd been safe my whole life.
Hunter grabbed my hand and pulled me, hard. We were running at this point.
"Faster!!" I screamed.
I heard footsteps behind us. I turned around to see it was just Loren.
"Emma! Wait! What's going on!!" She yelled through breaths. She was running in heels, out of breath.
Loren eventually caught up to us and came up next to me.
"People are out to get us, they're right behind you," I whispered.
She gasped and started running faster. I heard someone running in the grass behind us.
"We have to get to the street, they won't be able to touch you if we get to your neighborhood in time," Hunter said.
"Oh no, my heels are gonna be ruined!" Loren panted.
"NOW!" Hunter whispered.
We all ran into the street, cars beeping at us. I felt safe until I heard something behind me that I knew would change my life forever.
BOOM! Guns were firing from behind me. Loren started crying.
Once they grabbed Hunter, they'd went beyond my tolerance level.
"GET OFF OF HIM!" I screamed. Tears started rolling down my face.
"I love you Emma, remember that," Hunter managed to get out of his system. They were choking him to death. I tried to punch them, but I ended up being pushed and thrown into the street.
One of the people in black looked at me, pulling out his gun. He smirked and picked up Hunter.
Loren and I looked at each other and ran to him. He was not going to touch my boyfriend. No. No. No.
"I'll always love you, Emma," Hunter choked.
And with that last sentence, he was gone.
My everything, was never going to be in my arms, never going to be able to be in my presence ever again.
"NO! NO, NO, NO! COME BACK! HUNTER, PLEASE! I LOVE YOU, COME BACK!!" I sobbed.
The person in the black who killed him laughed. I knew that laugh. I knew that laugh from anywhere.
"Hey, babe. Now you can be all mine again," he laughed.
This wasn't happening.
No.
It was exactly who I thought it was.
He took his mask off, and I gasped.
He was even hotter than he was 2 years ago. I hated him, though. It was my ex- who abused me our whole relationship. I started crying even harder, knowing it was him who killed Hunter.
Loren's jaw dropped.
"You...." I said through my teeth.

Now, I stand here in front of Hunter's grave. Nothing has been the same without him. I've cut 17 times and became so depressed, I can't even go out of the house without crying. I'm surprised I even made it here.
I sighed. I miss him so much.
"I hate you, Jacob Sartorius." I sobbed. Jacob Sartorius killed my boyfriend exactly 1 year ago.
