"The two of you at a lake house, the middle of nowhere, together?" Emily ask, as we stand in the lunch line.
"Yes Emily, do I have to repeat it for the fifth time?" I ask, sarcastically.
"No, no. I'm just trying to wrap my mind around the idea of you two being alone together."
I scrunch up my nose, "Please don't picture my love life out, it's disturbing." I say, picking up a spicy chicken sandwich.
"Ok first, that's disgusting," she says, picking up a salad, "I'm saying the two of you alone together, nothing good can come out of that."
"Of course not, we're hormonal teenagers." I say with a smirk, as I pick up a fruit cup and some ketchup packets.
"But, your so..innocent." She says, picking up a Diet Coke.
"Please don't, it makes me sound like Virgin Mary." I say, picking up a milk and a juice.
"Hey nothing wrong with Mary, she should be an inspiration to all teens, I mean she was a virgin who popped out a kid and she didn't even have to do the dirty." She says, enthusiastically.
"But, than your missing all the fun." I say, paying for my food.
"Ok, point taken." She says, also paying for her food.
"Anyways I told my mom I was staying the weekend with you so, if she calls or something, that's where I am."
"And what do I get out of this?"
"A free spa day and acrylic nails professionally done, all from the pocket of your lovely best friend." I say, with a smile.
"I just want your love."
"Well you already have that so,"
"Okay, than spa day it is!" She says, cheerfully, as we sit down at our table.
"When do you guys leave?""Friday after school."
"Aww so I get to miss Friday movie night with my best friend?" She ask, with a pouty lip.
"We can move that to tonight, and have brownies, ice cream, popcorn, and soda for dinner?" I ask.
"Sounds amazing to me." She says, popping open her salad.
I smile triumphantly at my best friend, then take a bite out of my sandwich.
I set my sandwich back on my plate just as I feel the heat of someone's arms wrap around my waist.
"Hey baby." Tanner whispers in my ear. I can feel his hot breath on my neck, sending shivers down my spine.
I smile to my myself, "Hey."
He sits down beside me, "Hey Em." He says, smiling at Emily.
"Hey." She says with a smile, picking up more salad on her fork.
"How's your day going?" Tanner ask.
"Good so far." I reply.
"Good."
He picks up my sandwich, taking a bite and sets it back down.
