Chapter 8: Potions

          
RISSY'S POV
       I went down in the Slytherin dungeons to find Professor Snape waiting for me. "Hello, can I catch your name?"
         "Rissy Dayes," I said.
         "Okay, Rissy, please take a seat." Wow, he's much nicer in person. I sat down at an empty table. "Okay, we are missing one person.... Oh wait, there he is now!"
           Calathium walked in the room, and plopped right next to me! Oh no, I was so embarrassed about what happened earlier!!!!
CALATHIUM'S POV
       Of course, the one empty seat is next to Rissy. Why did she run like that? All I did was compliment her pretty hair. And I wonder how Eremurus felt when he didn't get into Hufflepuff. He was really hoping to talk to Ida more. Well, until she started talking to Noah.
        "Okay class, today you will be working with your partners. We will be making a potion called Veritaserum. It's a truth potion that forces the drinker to tell the truth. You and your partners will ask each other one question while the other is under Veritaserum. Okay so follow these instructions...." Snape said. I already knew what I was going to ask Rissy. When I glanced over at her, she was trying her best to not face me, hiding her face behind her hair, looking down, even taking her textbook and putting her face in it nose-deep.
RISSY'S POV
       I did my best to hide from Calathium. I didn't want him to see how nervous I got in front of him. He's just so cute!
     Once we were finished making the serum, Snape, uh I mean, Professor Snape, said that it was good to use. "So, uh, d-do you want t-to go f-first?" I stuttered.
        "Sure," Calathium said, calm as ever. What are my chances with him?
          He took a swig of the Veritaserum and closed his eyes. Then he popped them open, and I asked my question. "Can we be friends?" It was all I could think of, and we never made it official if we were friends or not, like Ida and I did.
          "Definitely," he smiled. "Maybe even more than that," he choked out. His face went wide. The serum wore off. "Uh-uh, your turn!"
CALATHIUM'S POV
         Did I just say that? Did I just tell Rissy I liked her? Oh my gosh, why? She picked up the vile of Veritaserum, her hands shaking violently. Then she drank it up, and closed her eyes. It finally set in, and she popped them open. "Okay, so why did you run away from me this morning?"
          She strained her answer, and finally blurted, "Because I get nervous around you! I like you! Like like you!" And with that the bell rang, and Rissy was gone before I could say another word.
