Chapter 7: First Day of School

         "HUFFLEPUFF!" The hat exclaimed.
          YAY I'M WITH IDA AND CALATHIUM! That's too bad for Eremurus. It must stink for him.
           "First years follow me!" I heard a Prefect call out to the Hufflepuffs. Ida, Calathium, and I waved a sorrowful goodbye to Eremurus and followed the Prefect. "Everyone settle down. Okay so to get into the Hufflepuff common room, you have to tap on this barrel of vinegar in this rhythm: Hel-ga Huffle-Puff. If you do this incorrectly, then vinegar will shoot out all over you, so be careful! I'll do it this time." the Prefect said. "I'm William, by the way."
William led us into the common room. It was stunning! It had yellow everywhere. There were plants all over too. I loved how cozy it looked! Ida raised her hand.
"Yes?" William asked.
"Umm, I'm Ida, and, well I was wondering why so many plants are in here. It looks so beautiful, it's unreal!"
"That was so nice of you to say, Ida!" William responded. "And that's because our Head of the House is Professor Sprout. She grows the most amazing plants, and will be your Herbology teacher this year."
"Wow," is all I managed to say. This was breathtaking.
"Okay, I'm assigning you to your dorm rooms. In Room 1, Calathium, Leonard, Sean, and Zack," William said. "Room 2, Ida, Rissy, Clementine, and Willow," he nodded at us.
Ida and I smiled, waved goodbye to Calathium, and skipped to Room 2. Clementine immediately greeted us as we walked into the dormitory. "Hi Ida, Rissy! My name is Clementine, and I'm so excited that we were roommates! Oh, and don't mind Willow, she's a sweetheart, just very tired. Hasn't slept in days ever since we got our letters. We are sisters."
Ida and I looked over at Willow, who had already claimed the bed by the window, fast asleep. "Hi!" I responded. "It's nice to meet you too. This is my cat, Olive!" I exclaimed, holding her to my chest, feeling her purrs vibrate throughout me.
"Aww , she's so cute!" Clementine said. "Let's get some sleep. We have a big day tomorrow!"
I picked a bed next to Ida, Willow across from me. I thought about how amazing this whole experience has been. I drifted off to sleep with a smile on my face.
At breakfast, I sat by Calathium. I left Ida talking to some Hufflepuff boy she thinks is cute. Already getting over Eremurus, I guess. I think this new boy's name is either Nelson or Nicholas, I forget. Calathium turned to face me. "I like your hair down like that." He smiled.
            What? "Thanks... Uh, I have to go to Potions now!" I said awkwardly.
            "Wait!" He called, but I was already running.
