I was patiently waiting for class to start by reading my book, The Blood of Olympus, I've already read it but I had nothing else to read at the moment.
"Martie, could you come here please?"
My teacher Mr. Trucan asked. I let out a sigh and put my book away making my way towards his desk. "Yes?" I asked wondering what this was about, I rarely got in trouble so I was a bit confused. "Today we will be getting a new student and I was hoping you could help him out. I looked at your classes and you two share four classes together so I thought it would make sense. Could you do that?" At first, I was very shocked when he said we were getting a new student, I mean our school in basically in the middle of nowhere. "Uh yeah, sure I can do that," I assured him and he smiled at me, "Thanks Martie, he should be arriving here shortly," he nodded at me and I then returned to my seat. I tried getting back into my book but my mind wondered about the boy. Hopefully he wouldn't be a dick so I could make it through the day with him. Then I realized something, it was a Friday. Why would someone's first day be on a Friday? Maybe that was not weird at all and I was just over thinking it. "Good morning class, I have some exciting news!" Mr. Trucan greeted the class pulling me away from my thoughts. "Today we will be getting a new student. I hope all of you will be friendly and welcoming," He explained, and just then there was a slight knock on the door. Mr. Trucan smiled and went to open the door, then motioned for the person to step inside the classroom. My mouth went completely dry and I caught my breath. The boy was tall and obviously muscular, he had messy dark blonde hair and his skin was a shimmering tan. The girl to my right whispered "Damn..." And I rolled my eyes. "Well class this is Mr. Caper O'Kellin, and this is his first day. Why don't you tell us a few things about youself?" Mr. Trucan said then leaned against his desk. "Sure, I'm Caper, Cap for short. I moved here about a week ago from New York," his voice gave me goosebumps,"and also I enjoy playing soccer." My ears perked up at that, and suddenly he became 10 times hotter. "You can take a seat besides Martie for today because Louis isn't here today. Martie please raise your hand," Mr. Trucan directed and I raised my hand just above my head. I looked down at my book as Caper walked towards me and I suddenly felt shivers. What the hell was that? I mentally asked myself, I turned my head to look at him and was greeted with a pair of dazzling ice cold blue eyes. They were brilliant, all of his features were, and then I knew in a heartbeat every single last girl would be throwing themselves at his feet. "Hey, I'm Martie," I whispered and held out my hand. "It's nice to meet you Martie," Caper smiled and took my hand. It was like a heat wave rushed over my body from his touch. He seemed nice enough, maybe today wouldn't be so bad.We made it through Social Studies giving each other occasional smiles, then second period flew by quickly but I didn't have class with him. I looked at his classes and saw we had social studies, gym, physics, and English together. I sat through math completely bored because we had a sub and I already completely the work that was assigned to us. I tried reading but a group of girls behind me were gossiping about Caper. "Oh my god, he is as hot as hell!" "I saw him walking through the halls and I could have sworn he was a male model..." I couldn't help but roll my eyes at their stupidity. Like seriously? Thankfully the bell finally rang releasing me from that torture. Next was my favourite class of the day: Gym.
Quickly getting dressed into my gym clothes before any girl got in there, then walked outside to the soccer field. Our gym teacher, Miss Morre, was sitting on the bench probably deciding teams. I grabbed a soccer ball and began to juggle it with my feet. 35, 36, 37... "Hey Martie!" A familiar voice called out, making me stop my good rhythm. "Hi Caper, how was your second hour?" I asked ignoring his hair falling into his face and resisting the urge to push it away. "Boring, Mr. Gerlin's voice is sooooo monotoned," Caper said running his fingers through his glossy hair. I silently thanked The Lord for that, "Make any friends yet?" I asked hopefully. "One," he responded simply, "That's great, who?" "You," he said without missing a beat. My eyes widen a bit in surprise, he hadn't made another friend? It that even possible? "Oh... Uh thanks? I'm sure you'll make more friends soon," I said biting my lip realizing how stupid I probably sounded, of course he would make more friends. Everyone was now outside, the girls were all huddled together, probably talking about Caper. The boys were rough housing and swearing at one another like idiots, and the quiet ones were sitting on the bench awkwardly. Miss Morre blew her whistle piercing everyone's ears, "Everyone look at what team you are on! Pick your positions amongst yourselfs!" She shouted at everyone. Everyone lined up and either walked to the other side of the field or stayed here. When it was my turn, my eyes scanned the paper and saw that my name was on this side of the field. And just to my luck, so was Caper's, to be honest, I was happy because he said that he liked playing soccer so if he was good then we would win. Once teams were settled, all the quiet kids and a few girls sat on the sidelines. "What position do you usually play?" I asked looking at my team and was slightly impressed. "Forward, I have a good shot," Caper said moving into position, "I will feed the ball up to you then, I'm an defender," I explained to him. The rest of my team fell into positions, there were a few athletic guys, and a girl from my soccer team being a midfielder. Our goalie was non-other than Adam Reese himself, he played football, obviously, so he has good hands. Miss Morre blew her whistle indicating the start of the game. I began shouting demanding to my team what to do out of habit, and quicker than what I would have guessed, we already scored. Caper came jogging back with a half smile on his face looking down. He wasn't kidding. We were up 6 to nothing in about 5 minutes, it was almost like the Caper Show, then suddenly a kid got on a break away on the opposite side of the field as me because the girl on that side wasn't paying any attention. On instinct, I sprinted towards the boy, Marcus, and slide tackled him sending him flying and the ball to roll out of bounds giving them a corner kick. I helped Marcus up, "You ok, jerk?" I smiled, "I'm fine, bitch," he responded smiling. We were close friends and insulted each other on a regular basis. Marcus ran over to take the kick and I found someone to mark. The ball flew into the air and I went to header it out when someone punched it away and toppled onto me. I groaned in pain as the figure crushed my body into the ground. "Sorry! I didn't see you there, are you okay?" Adams voice asked with concern. I had to blink a few times before regaining my vision, seeing Adam hovering over me. "I'm fine, and it's ok you're just doing your job," I smiled letting him know I wasn't in pain. Adam let out a breath and helped me up to my feet. Although Adam was "that boy", he wasn't an asshole. I brushed myself off then went back into the game, I looked over at Caper and saw that he was glaring at Adam. What is that about? Miss Morre blew her whistle again and then yelled, "That's it for today! Tomorrow we will have different teams! Now get out of here!" Caper jogged over to me, "Are you ok? I saw Adam land on you," "I'm fine, he just caught me off guard," I responded walking back to the locker room. A hand slapped me on the back, "good work back there, slow poke," Marcus smirked at me. "Shut up, I took you down faster then a girl rejecting you," I shot back back at him. He frowned and put a hand to his heart, "I'm hurt, Nightcade," "You'll live," I rolled eyes playfully then noticed Caper staring him down. "Caper, this is my good friend Marcus, Marcus this is Caper, he just moved here from New York," I introduced them. "Yeah! Your in my French class! You got skills out on the field man," Marcus said to him. "Yeah and thanks, you're pretty good yourself," Caper said still staring at him. "I know, but not as good as this retard," Marcus flipped my dark brown hair into my face. "You got that right, I will see you two after 4th period in lunch. Bye boys!" I called to them as I walked into the girls locker room. I stood there for a second smiling, thinking that today was going to be a really good day.
HELLO! I hope you guys liked this chapter. It took me some time to finally upload it! Anyways, I'm still figuring out how to format it properly so it looks a bit crammed. Anyways, thank you to the 12 people who have read what I have so far! I was expecting no one to see it so this is huge for me. Please leave any comments of what you think so far and what I can do to improve! Thank you! (I changed the title because I hated the other one.)
