I walked over to my locker to grab my binder for physics and English. Veronica appeared at my side, "So what you and Caper do?" She asked casually, but obviously implying that we have probably kissed or something. "What is wrong with you? We just talked, I'm trying to be friendly here," I said rolling my eyes then shut my locker. "You're such a bad liar, I'll see you after school Nightcade!" Veronica called out as we walked in different directions just as the bell rang. She was impossible, I mean, I just met the guy. "Guess who got off with a warning?!?!" Marcus snuck up behind me and covered my eyes. "The bo-zo?" I joked and he clapped his hands against my cheeks. "CCCCCCCCorrect!!!" Marcus dragged out and jumped away from me because I was about to stomp on his foot for that. "Speaking of, where is Caper?" Marcus asked running his hand through his milk chocolate shaggy hair. I froze and swore to myself then quickly turned around only to slam into a student. Now, I've never had the best of balance so I fell back on my butt with my binders going to each side of me. "Second time today, sorry about that," Adam quickly said almost to himself. He helped me up and grabbed the binder that fell to my left which was English and I grabbed the one to my right. "It's cool, it was mostly my fault anyway," I explained as I scanned the hallways for Caper. I turned to look at Marcus who was doubled over laughing, so I did what any good friend would do and kicked him in the shins. "There was no need for that!" Marcus whined and I rolled my eyes at his childish behaviour. "Are you forgetting that you're suppose to show me around?" Caper announced, obviously annoyed. Then I did something that I never do, blush. Dammit Martie, could you not act like such an idiot in front of everyone you meet? "Sorry, follow me," I said trying to hide my blush. "And me! I also have class with you guys," Marcus said with excitement. Caper looked over at him and rolled his eyes and I laughed. "What? What's so funny?" Marcus furrowed his eyebrows together. "Oh nothing to get your stupid head mixed up about," I told him in a childish voice.
The bell rang and everyone shuffled into their seats. I sat in front of the class and Marcus sat in the back. Caper stood awkwardly at the front of the room and all the girls just gawked at him, he looked over at me for support but I just shrugged. "Ok class, let's get started," our physics teacher Mr. Kington said as he closed the door to the classroom. "Oh! Mr. O'Kellin I forgot you were arriving today, my apologizes. Class this is Caper and he is new to our school and you can take a seat right there next to Kimmy, Kimmy raise your hand," Mr. Kington said as he walked over to his desk and went on to his computer. The second he said Kimmy's name, my head whipped over to where she sat, in the row behind me and four seats to the left. I hated that girl, she was considered the "popular" girl. But in my opinion she was just a girl with a terrible personality with a gallon of makeup on her face. She twirled her face and giggled at him as he sat down next to her with a smile. Welp, it was nice knowing him. Mr. Kington gave us a worksheet of problems and told us we could work with partners as long as we didn't get to loud. I started working on them when someone sat down next to me and started poking me with the eraser on the pencil. I decided to ignore him because he would just want me to give him all of the answers anyway. "Martie... Martie..... Oh come on bruh, look at meeeeeeee," Marcus dragged out. I slammed my pencil onto the desk and looked over at him trying to control my breathing. "Woah woah woah here, calm down I just want some help," I raised my eyebrow at him, "Ok I want the answers but I also want to talk to my friend." "Just give me a few minutes so you can just copy my work ok?" I told him blocking him out with my hand, as much as he was my friend, I still wanted to punch him so badly sometimes. "Aww you do love me!" He exclaimed and I rolled my eyes then went on to finish the paper. It only took me about 15 minutes then handed Marcus the paper after nudging him awake from his nap. Marcus flashed me a wide smile then began to scribble down the work I just did. "Caper you're so funny!" Kimmy squeaked and then laughed a ear splitting laugh. I tried to zone them out by reading. I focused on the book and tried to get lost in the words. "Are you serious?!?!" Kimmy squeaked again then burst into fits of giggles. Then I heard a snap. I looked down and saw that I had split my pencil into two pieces. I let out a frustrated breath then pushed my chair back to go throw away my now broken pencil. As I walked back Marcus raised his eyebrows at me. "What?" I asked him slumping down into my chair, "You just broke a perfectly good pencil with your left hand and I'm not suppose to question that?" Marcus asked lightly and my eyes quickly shot a glance over at Caper and Kimmy. Marcus then did the realization 'oh' and leaned back in his chair. We sat in silence until the bell rang.
