Chapter 8: "I'm Not Sure What This Is Gonna Be"

Niall's POV:

"Hey Zayn," I called out.

"Yeah, babe?"

"I found this," I handed him an envelope addressed to Louis.

"What is it?"

I shrugged my shoulders, "I dunno. Do you think it's from Harry?"

"Open it and find out," Zayn suggested.

"Should we? I mean what if it's confidential or something?"

"It's not," Zayn said before opening it.

I watched him as he read it. He had a confused look on his face.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I don't know, but there no signature or anything,"

I took the paper from Zayn and read it. No name, just xx.

"What the hell?"

"We shouldn't give it to him," Zayn said.

"I agree. I'm just worried about him, you know?"

"Yeah.. if he gets any more, we read them and hide them... Okay?"

"Okay..."

I don't know how I feel about keeping this from Louis, but I know... in the long run, it will be for the best.

"Where do you think we should hide it?" I asked.

"I'll put it in the bookcase in our office at the shop,"

"He'll never find it," I smiled.

Harry's POV

One Week Later

I've been writing and dropping off letters for Louis everyday. I've put a lot of thought into these letters. Everyday I write one and drop it off on my way to work. I visit Liam every Monday and Thursday at 3:30. He keeps saying that I'm getting better, but he keeps prescribing me medication. Now, I'm taking Cymbalta, for depression, Desyrel, for anxiety, and Chantix, to stop smoking. I'm eating regularly. And I haven't tasted a drop of alcohol in two weeks.

"How have you been this week?" Liam asked.

"Great, actually." I smiled.

"You seem happy, that's great."

"Liam, I wrote Louis a letter this morning, but I didn't give it to him,"

"Oh, why is that?"

"I wanted someone's opinion on it before I drop it off,"

"Drop it off?"

"Yeah, I put it in the post slot. I don't want him to see me when I give it to him."

"Oh, okay. Would you like to read it?"

"Would you mind if I sang it?"

"No, go ahead," Liam smiled.

I unfolded the letter and stood up.

"I can see you there with the city lights,

fourteenth floor, pale blue eyes

I can breathe you in

Two shadows standin' by the bedroom door

No, I could not want you more than I did right then,
