The light of our lives
Is in the small moments
Fleeting flickers of bright flame
Among the scattered ashes of our existence
We yearn for this flame to stay alight,
We crave to see the crackling embers live a little longer,
A comforting warmth to light the darkness,
The cold within our hearts.
But if or hearts were warmed,
It would surely be the cause of our destruction
Those flickering embers of beauty
Would drown among the roaring flames,
With a passion untamed.
