"Where are we going?" I asked, glancing over at Tony beside me. We had been walking for a few minutes, and I couldn't figure out where he was leading me.
"It's a surprise," Tony replied with a smirk in my direction. I grumbled under my breath. I didn't like surprises. I liked knowing what was going to happen.
"Give me a hint, at least," I tried.
"Hmm..Ok," Tony agreed, "Somewhere great."
"Wow. Very descriptive," I said sarcastically. Tony merely shrugged, smirking at me.

After a while longer Tony paused and turned to face me. I gave him a quizzical look. As far as I could see, we were just in another part of the forest.

Tony took out a blindfold. "It's a surprise. May I?" He asked, holding up the cloth. I hesitated but then nodded. I had only met the guy yesterday, but I guess to have friends to had to trust each other..
Carefully, as if not wanting to hurt me or anything, he tied the blindfold around my face.
He took my hand and then began leading me once again, though at a walk so I wouldn't trip and fall.
"How much farther?" I asked after only a few steps.
"Not much." He said.

After yet another few minutes, I noted I could no longer feel the sun on my back and I felt colder, as if in very shady spot.
Suddenly I was being picked up bridal style, still blind folded. "Hey! This wasn't part of the deal," I exclaimed in surprise. "Sorry. Just don't want you to trip and fall on your face or anything," He said. I could practically hear the grin on his face.
He seemed to be carrying me through a cave, at least, that's all I could think of that made sense.
Eventually-hardly two minutes later- he put me down. I could hear the rush of water close by.
Slowly he removed the blindfold and I blinked, my eyes adjusting and then widening in curiosity.

He had brought me to a wide area in a cave -I had guessed correctly-though it was more like a ravine. There was light shining in from above like a sky light high above our heads. There were flowers and even a couple animals down here, surprisingly.

The water I had heard was a massive waterfall, actually, multiple water falls. The water poured out from high along the walls, making a pond in the center of the ravine. It was beautiful, really. I wondered how I hadn't discovered this place before.

"Do you like it?" Tony asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. I turned to face him, smiling. "It's beautiful. How'd you find it?"

"I was out hunting a while ago. I saw a cow fall down the skylight. Then I found a way down myself." He shrugged. "I come here sometimes."
"It's really pretty," I said. He nodded.

"Afraid I can't stay long today," Tony said, "I plan to move out the day after tomorrow. Gotta start packing and stuff."
"Ah, ok. Know where you are going yet?" I asked, plopping down onto a boulder near by. He sat down on a rock next to me, seeming to think a moment.
"Still not sure. I'm going to wander around for a while. Figure out then I suppose."
"I guess that's a good plan," I nodded. He smiled, "My father didn't think so. He wants me to stay in the village, help out with the farms. Stay safe," He shrugged. "That makes sense. But it's up to you really," I told him, he nodded.

The rest of our talking kind of flew by. We walked around a while, and then he showed me how to get out of the ravine. Then he left. He had offered to walk me home but I said I wanted to stick around the ravine for a little bit longer.

Once he walked away to where I couldn't see him anymore, instead of going back into the ravine, I began climbing up the hill it was hidden in. Once at the top I looked out at the forest below me.
I sat down, letting my legs dangle from where I sat.

I sat there for a while, just looking down at the trees , my home in the distance, and where I knew the village was further away.

I sighed, standing up. I didn't want to get caught out here at night, which would be here soon.

As I began going back down the hill something crashed into me with a squeal. "Red!" The figure exclaimed, hugging me before I fell to the ground. I blinked, focusing my eyes on the girl hugging me. I recognized her voice anywhere, and grinned. "Sapphire!" I said, hugging her back. She smiled and let me go. "Sorry about crashing into you like that. Just surprised I saw you here," She said. "It's been so long!" She added.
"No kidding!" I replied with another smile. "How you doing?" I asked.
"Oh, great. I'm moving out in a few days and knew I had to find you. Remember all of our plans?"
"Duh! I just totally forgot lately," I said. "We are still doing it though."
"Definitely."

Our plan was to move out together, be neighbors all on our own and do whatever we wanted.

"Why don't you stay over tonight?" I asked her, "Emmalyn and I are going to the village tomorrow. You could come along so we could get some stuff before we go."
"Yea, sure." Sapphire agreed.
"We probably should go though, it's going to be dark soon."
"Agreed. Let's go," She nodded.

Sapphire and I had been friends basically since we were born. Until this past year we had hung out regularly; all the time. We had always dreamed of the day we could move out and have adventures on our own.  That day was in just under a week.
