A few days later, I sat up in bed, staring at Drew who was stuffing stuff into his inventory. What was he doing?

He was taking basically everything he had, even some one of stuff he never took anywhere.
"Drew?" I asked, my voice sounding weird and stuff because I had just woke up.
"Yea?" Drew responded, only looking up for a moment, then he returned his gaze to what he was doing.
"What in the world are you doing?"
"Packing."
"Why?"
"I'm moving out."
"W-what?!" I exclaimed, throwing my covers back and standing up to properly face him.
"I'm an adult now. I'm going to move out and build my own place."
"But.. What about the monsters?"
"I know how to protect myself," He said, looking up to meet my worried gaze.

"Promise?"
"Promise what?"
"Promise me you will be careful and not ever get hurt," I said seriously. I stared into his dark blue eyes, wanting to see truth in his. I saw hesitance, but eventually some truth.
"I promise."
"Good."

I headed downstairs while Drew grabbed his final things before coming down as well. He grabbed some tools and some food to put in his bag. I could see from the outside it was pretty full. He probably didn't have much room left

.
"I want you to take the mule," My father said,
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Thanks." Drew said, sounding a bit relieved, and pretty grateful.

Emmalyn began to cry with my mother as Drew headed out, only after giving my mother, sister, and I kisses on our forehead, and my father a hug. Then he was gone. I had no idea where he planned to go, but I hoped it was close. But then again... He had always wanted to move away where he couldn't get help as easily, and be all by himself.

I felt my vision blurr, and quickly rubbed away the tears and going outside. I jogged out into the thick forest behind our home and climbed into a tree. I had always been the best at climbing trees. I supposed it was because I was basically half squirrel. Seriously though. I had a red, really fluffy tail, and matching red ears atop my head.

I didn't hear anyone looking for me, so I jogged across the tree, and suddenly jumped. It wasn't even five blocks, so it wasn't too hard of a jump. Every now and then I made jumps that some would think impossible. Never once did I fall to the dirt.

I just.. needed to think. I realized I would be an adult eventually, and suddenly began to seriously wonder what I wanted with my life. I wanted to be happy, and never have to worry.

I jumped down from a lower point in a tree and found myself in a small clearing with tall, beautiful roses. It was then I decided I wanted to live in a small comfortable home when I grew up. There would be nearly every kind of flower around my home, lots of animals, and a small river and lots of trees all around.
I smiled at the image.

But then, my thoughts drifted into me getting married. I would probably need a bigger house then. I grinned, rather stupidly, I suddenly realized. But anyway, me and my husband would build our perfect house in the prairie, next to a forest (of course). And there, we would have our kids and any thing else we desired.

I smiled once again, but the smile slowly fell from my facials as I heard something behind me...

I slowly drew the stone sword I had, and turned around, narrowing my eyes to focus on where the noises were coming from. I crept forward, crouching behind trees until I could almost smell the person.

I took a deep breath and readied my stance. Then I turned, leaping over ferns and tackling a large figure to the ground and holding my sword to their neck.
