Independent In Love

Chapter Six

It was finally time for Jade to leave. Things between her and De'ante were not back on track. He was still feeding her the same bullshit about him doing what he did out of love and just trust him. What he did should have been talked about because he wasn't the one that helped her open the shop. His name wasn't on no damn deed. The point was he had no right in making that type of decision.

She still loved De'ante with everything in her, but for the life of her she just didn't understand his logic at the moment. She was tired of trying to figure the shit out. Whenever she would ask about why he did it; he would always say that he couldn't tell her. That shit she couldn't understand. In fact there was nothing he could do to make her understand it.

She looked around her room making sure that she had everything. Once she made sure, she called Blu to let her know that she was on her way. Just as she was about to grab her luggage De'ante walked in holding Destinee. Jade looked up at him and looked away as she took a deep breath. She reached for her luggage, but De'ante walked over and grabbed it. She took Destinee out of his arms and she laid her head on her shoulder.

The walk down the stairs was filled with silence. Once they hit the landing  they stopped and stared at each other. The love was so strong and it could be felt a mile a way regardless to what was going on. That was one thing that neither of them could deny was the fact they loved each other. Jade rubbed her daughters back absently as De'ante took a step closer.

"Jade I apologize about everything. All that I ask is that you forgive me for the way I handled things. I know this shit is frustrating and right now you don't understand. Just give it some time and you will see why I did things the way that I did. Just know that I love you to death and I would never want to do anything to hurt or this marriage. I know I'm come off like a real asshole sometimes, but you know my heart baybeh." He said with so much sincerity tears welled in Jade's eyes.

"You right I don't understand and I may never understand, but understand that this is something that I would never ever do to you because I know how much your restaurants mean to you. I love you too De'ante and ain't a damn thing gon' change that."

He looked at hear as she walked into the kitchen. The hurt in her eyes and voice was fucking with his mental. He now realized that he didn't think things through. Just like him he acted on impulse and at the time he was thinking selfishly. Now he was regretting that shit. He just hope that once everything he had done is finished things will go back to normal.

She grabbed her keys from the rack by the door. She looked down and Destinee had fallen asleep. A warm smile appeared on Jade's face as she kissed her daughter's forehead.  De'ante took in the seen and couldn't help but smile. Sliding his hands inside his sweats her walked over to them. De'ante walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist as he kissed her cheek.

"I'm going to miss you."

"I'm going to miss you too, but I will be back before you know it. You know I can't stay away from my loves for too long."

"Promise me that you will be careful."

"Always baby."

They lingered a few more minutes and it was finally time for her to go. She kissed her daughter before De'ante took her upstairs to lay her down. A few minutes later he returned and walked over to his wife. Just as she was about to say something he backed her into the wall by the door and kissed her passionately. His tongue mated with hers in slow and sensual manner. Moisture pooled between her legs. He pulled back resting his forehead against hers as he held her at her waist.

"God you don't know how much I fucking love you." He said in a agonizing tone, gripping her waist tighter.

Her breathing and heart rate were out of control. Finally he stepped back and went to grab her luggage. He came back and grabbed her hand walking her out to her car. Popping the trunk he placed her luggage inside. Turning back to her he pulled her into a tight embrace. He kissed her forehead repeatedly and then her lips.

"I love you. Drive safe and call me as soon as you and Blu get there."

"I love you too and I will."

She eased inside the car, quickly starting it as she backed out of the driveway. De'ante stood there and watched her as she was no longer in sight. One would have thought that she was leaving him and not coming back. It was hard for him because  she was always with him and vice versa. He was going to have learn that just because they were married that change the fact that Jade Rodgers was still independent.

"Girl I am tired as hell." Jade flopped back on the bed inside their suite.

"Shit who you telling. I really needed this brief getaway." Blu sighed.

"Uh oh. What's up?"

"A few nights ago Jayden came over and was on his usual bullshit about he was sorry and he cared about me. I quickly shut is ass down. Every since that night he has been blowing my ass up, but me being who I am ignore him."

"I can't say I blame you. He on that lil boy type shit. You a grown ass woman and for him to be so damn smart he ain't got an ounce of common sense."

"You got that shit right, Jade."

Jade grabbed her phone so that she could call her husband. She needed to hear his sexy ass voice. Dialing his number the phone rang once before he quickly picked up. "Wassup baybeh?"

"What are you and my baby doing?"

"Chilling right now. What are y'all up to?"

"Resting right now. We will probably grab something to eat in a little while though."

"Oh okay. So when do y'all start working?" He asked as he watched Destinee play with her dolls.

"Tomorrow and I know shit is going to get crazy."

"Well just be careful and be safe. I think I'm going to go chill at Mama Matthews for a while. Hit me up before you go to bed."

"Okay I love you."

"I love you too."

"Y'all cute and shit." Blu teased.

"Whatever. I'm still fucked up about what he did though. I mean I just don't understand the shit and he ain't making shit no better by telling me that he can't tell me what's up." Jade shook her head.

"You know men a little on the slow side sometime. They don't comprehend nor see the bigger picture the way we do." Blu chuckled.

"You got that shit right. Oh Marah tell you she was pregnant?"

"Bitch no! Oh my God I'm so excited and happy for her."

"Me too."

"You ready to go find something to eat cause I'm hungry as hell." Jade said as she stood and stretched.

"You already know this."

It was dark once Jade and Blu left from eating. As they made their way through traffic they laughed and talked about random bullshit. They both wished that Marah was there, but Kevin had her ass on lock down. Jade made a turn on the road that led to their lavish hotel. As soon as she made the right turn bright headlights were headed in their lane.

Jade tried to swerve from the reckless driver, but she had now way to go. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

All could be heard was the loud crash of the car hitting them head on. Glass and metal flew in every directions as everything rapidly became dark.......

From this point on things are really going to get crazy!
