Two weeks later.....
Jade was still in the woods after she had the surgery to relieve the bleeding. She was breathing on her own, but it was going to be a slow recovery. De'Ante had been there day in and day out with her. He barely slept and barely ate. Jade was his life line and he couldn't make it without her. Now he was regretting big time all the shit that he had done.
In the back of his mind he was scared that something was going to happen to her where he would lose her for good. All he wanted to do is keep her safe and protected. He sat in the chair next to her bed and stared at her wrapped head. Even in her weakest hour she was still beautiful to him. He prayed that she got back to normal.
"De'Ante, baby you need to eat and get some rest. You still have Destinee to look after. God has got her and I'm here." Janetta said as she approached him from behind.
"Mama J, I can't leave. I have to stay by her side."
"Honey I know, but what good will you be to her if you don't take care of yourself. Once she is out of here she is going to need you to be there every step of the way. Things are not going to be easy, but through constant prayer and faith everything will be alright."
"Where is my baby girl?" He asked taking his eyes off Jade.
"She is with Marah and Kevin."
De'Ante nodded and stared back at his wife. He just wanted things back to way that it was. Ante knew that shit happened, and he prayed that nothing else would happen. Jade's eyes fluttered open and she tried to turn her head to look in De'Ante's direction.
"De'Ante." Jade whispered hoarsely.
"Baybeh I'm right here." He grabbed her hand lightly squeezing it.
Janetta stood back with tears in her eyes because the love that radiate from the two and because God was in the midst of healing. She made her way over to the other side of the bed and caressed her daughter's cheek. It was a tremendous blessing to see her eyes open and her being able to speak words.
"De'Ante I'm sorry. I should have stayed home and none of this would have happened." Tears streamed down her face.
He looked at Janetta because he was at momentary lose for words. "Jade don't do that right now. I'm just glad that you are okay and God is giving us another chance to work on our marriage. I admit I was wrong."
Jade nodded and looked at her mother with a weak smile. She grabbed her mother's hand and squeezed it with what little strength she had. All that mattered to her was the road to recovery and being there for her family. All of sudden she frowned as if she were in pain, but her mind went to Blu.
"How's Blu? Is she okay?"
There was a long pause before anyone spoke. Jade knew that something was wrong and she wanted to know what it was. It had to be something serious because the way that her mother and husband were acting.
"Somebody say something and don't tell me not to worry. Blu is my best friend and I have a right to know what is going on."
"Jade she is paralyzed from the waist down. Far as we know it could be short-term. Right now it's too early to tell." Janetta said with tears in her eyes.
"Noooo...." Jade cried silently not believing what she as hearing.

Jayden sat in the chair and watched the rise and fall of Blu's chest. He couldn't believe that this was even happening. This was not supposed to be how things were. He regretted every word that he had said to her previously. Jayden even regretted not spending time with her. Its sad that he didn't realize how much she meant to him until now. God was really opening his eyes.
