Life. It's not supposed to be fair.
It's not supposed to be even
Not supposed to care.
But I'm saying
Crying out asking
Always asking
Why can't the world show me
A little mercy, kindness, or love?
'Cause the world would be a better place
If we all loved like family.
Love so deep there's no room
No place for hate
Sadly, this isn't the way the world works.
We are all much too greedy
Propelled by a single desire
A desperation to get so much more.
We all gossip
So we all hate
Here is the truth
This is how it works.
Friends turn upon friends
Without a care.
The hate that runs deep in our veins
It's a natural part of us.
Surges through our very beings
Purging us of love.
Is this truly how the world works?
Hate instead of healing
Killing in place of kindness?
Life. It's not supposed to be fair.
It's not supposed to be even
Not supposed to care.
