Audrey walked into Bradley's house fifteen minutes late. She was wearing a sweatshirt that said "Nash Grier is my boyfriend." She trudged in and didn't even stop to pet Stitch. This was how the other three (Bradley, Karson, and Andi) knew she was in a bad mood. Andi was smiling for a reason the two boys couldn't figure out.
"Isn't Nash Grier homophobic?" Karson spoke up.
Andi smiled wider.
"Yup." Audrey shot Andi a glare as she answered.
"Why are you wearing that sweatshirt if you don't like it?" It was Bradley who spoke up this time.
Audrey sighed and for the first time since she'd walked through the door she didn't look pissed, she looked vulnerable. "I lost a bet."
Andi's smile got so big it looked painful (it actually was, but she was trying really hard not to laugh so she dealt with the pain anyway).
"What bet?"
Andi finally spoke up. "Audrey and I made a little bet at the club the other night. The first one to get plastered and make out with a stranger lost. Since I obviously drink more often than the fucking fairy princess over her I have a higher tolerance. She got drunk and made out with a guy who was at least twenty three. He also wore a lot of leather. She apparently has a thing for bad boys." Andi was laughing so hard she was crying by the time she finished. It had been really hard to understand her story because she'd been laughing so hard. Eventually the boys seemed to understand what was going on.
"Oh my god, do your mom and dad know?"
"Of course they don't, I'm still grounded from when we got arrested."
"If you're still grounded why are you here?"
"Our parents don't understand the concept of grounding. They don't do it a lot." Karson shrugged. It was true though. His parents and his aunt and uncle were really bad punishers because Karson and Audrey were as straight laced as they come.
"Well...let's do the Live Stream?"
"Yeah, sure, let's just get this over with so I can go home and take this god forsaken sweatshirt off."
*~*~*
"How did we meet?" Karson read off the screen before turning to look at the other three.
"At VidCon over the summer, but we've been going to school together for ages, we just never talked." Andi shrugged like it didn't sound like the plot for a bad Teen Nick Sitcom, like that crappy show, Walking on Sunshine. Actually Audrey loved that show and Andi had secretly liked it as well. But it was like watching Disney Channel. Bash it with your peers and binge watch it when no one's around to judge you.
"Okay...um...favorite Jack Black movie?" Audrey asked and then sat back and let Bradley and Andi take it away.
Andi said, "Nacho Libre!"
Bradley said, "School of Rock," at the same time.
A heated argument followed. Audrey finally broke it up by saying that The Holiday is Jack Black's best movie ever. No one agreed, but that was okay, because just when Bradley and Andi were about to turn their wrath upon her Karson interrupted with a new question.
"Are you guys allergic to anything?"
"Nope. Karson's allergic to cats though."
"I own a cat. I named him Stich."
"Very good Bradley, now tell the nice people how old you are."
Bradley gave Andi a glare. Andi returned it. Sometimes, especially when they acted like this, it was hard to remember they weren't together anymore. It hurt, for both of them, when the realization would sink in. But somehow Andi knew that it hurt her more than it hurt Bradley. She'd liked him more than he liked her, always had it felt like.
"Are Andi and Bradley still together?" As soon as Audrey read the question she shrank back as if she was afraid of how the once happy couple would react.
They just stared at each other and finally Bradley walked away and looked straight at the crappy webcam on his Mac. "No, we broke up last month."
Andi was still staring at Bradley. Hearing the words made it suddenly very real. She looked to Karson who was watching her intently. She smiled in his direction. He attempted to wink, it looked more like a twitch. She bit her lip in an attempt to not laugh. He was so awkward it was cute. He wore awkward well, like how some guys can rock suspenders (Bradley, sadly, cannot).
And then she saw Bradley give Audrey a weird look. She knew he was moving on and while Andi was ready to move on she wasn't ready for Bradley to move on. She knew it was selfish but she couldn't help it. She hated the idea of any other girl being able to captivate his attention and tame his wild streak the way she had. It hurt. But she wanted him to be happy and she wanted Audrey to be happy. She just hoped they waited until she was ready to actually realize they liked each other, you know, that way.
