Behind Closed Doors [A Shoey AU]

Chapter 4

Standing in front of him was a guy he had never seen before. He looked to be just a little taller than Shane with spiked up hair. He was wearing a striped top, skinny jeans and a pair of red boat shoes, Shane thought he was really cute.The longer Shane looked at him the more interested he got. Shane wondered who this kid was but being the shy person he was he didn't dare ask. Cullen noticed Shane walk in and couldn't help but say something to him.

"Hey Shane checking out the new kid are ya now." Cullen laughed as Shane quickly put his head down. The new kid turned to look he figured he was probably the only new kid. He looked at Cullen and then looked at Shane. At this time the teacher walked into the Class. The Teachers name is Mr.Butler. Mr.Butler was Shane's favorite teacher because he always stood up for Shane.

"Hello Class, so today we have a new student if you didn't already notice" he was cut off by Cullen "Oh I'm pretty sure Shane noticed" he whisper loud enough so the whole class could hear him.

"Hey Cullen how about you stop paying attention to Shane okay? you're getting a little obsessed with what he does." The whole class including Shane started laughing. Cullen shot Shane and the teacher a dirty look.

"So as I was saying, we have a new student" He pointed at him. "His name is Joey Graceffa, he just moved here from Boston" he looked at Joey. "So what's it like going from Boston to California?"

He spoke for the first time "Well its definitely warmer". Shane immediately looked up. His voice with cute, it wasn't like other guys voices it was high and made Shane smile. As soon as he looked up he noticed Joey was staring at him. Joey quickly looked away.

"He must be thinking about how disgusting I look" Shane thought to himself. Joey was in fact staring at him but not because he thought shane looked disgusting it was actually the complete opposite, He thought Shane was really cute, he liked how his hair was parted and how he dressed in a big t-shirt, skinny jeans and a pair of converse.

The teacher began to speak again "So today we will be practising our throws and catches in Baseball, Everybody pair up"

Everybody began pairing up with the best friends but since Shanes only friend was Lisa and now Luke he was left standing alone. By the time everyone was paired there were only 4 people left standing. Him, Joey, Sawyer and Cullen. Cullen was always left because nobody wanted to be his partner because he always ended up hurting the other person.

"Hey Shane" he heard a familiar voice calling him, he looked over and noticed it was Sawyer. "Did you wanna be my partner?" he smiled at Shane.

"Um. Sure."

He didn't really know Sawyer that well because Classes had only started about a week. He kinda wanted to be Joey's partner but he knew somebody like that wouldn't like him or want to even talk to him.

"Well Joey that leaves you with Cullen" Mr. Butler announced.

"Oh great, stuck with another gay boy" he said making Joey look at him.

"Cullen leave, I don't want you here if you're going to be rude"

"Fine" he said as he stormed out.

"Does anyone else wanna be Joey's partner?" Mr Butler asked.

"We will" Shane said. He noticed how fast he had spit that out and how it sounded really needy.

"Um, I mean if nobody else wants to be."

"Well then Joey I guess you're with Shane and Sawyer" as soon as he said this Shane noticed Sawyer looking a little upset but before he could ask what was bothering him Joey walked over.

"Hello there, My names Joey. So you must be Shane and Sawyer" He said only looking at Shane.

"Um ya, I'm Sawyer and thats Shane" he said before Shane could even open his mouth. Joey looked over at Sawyer.

"So shall we start?" Joey asked as he grabbed a baseball out of the basket.

They spent the whole period in silence just throwing the ball back and forth between the three of them. They were all to shy to talk to each other so the conversation was never started. Finally the bell rang and that meant lunch time. Joey turned to get his backpack and then turned back around to face them.

"Hey thanks for letting me join you guys."

"Oh no problem" Shane said.

"Ya no problem" Sawyer said looking mildly pissed off

They all grabbed their backpacks and headed for the cafeteria.
