Behind Closed Doors [A Shoey AU]

Chapter 6

*Shanes point of view*

I knew I had had an anxiety attack and fainted. This was the first time in a long time I had fainted due to an anxiety attack.

When I awoke, I opened my eyes and saw the outline of 4 people. I stared for a second before I made out who was standing over me. It was Lisa, Luke, Ingrid and to my surprise Joey was there to. I looked around before saying anything and noticed I was in the nurses room.

"Ugh" I moaned because I still felt so weak.

"Shane?" All 4 of them said my name at the same time.

"How di-did I get here?" I asked curiously.

"We'll I carried you" Joey said smiling.

I looked over at him. His eyes were green now. But before in the cafeteria I was sure they were blue. Maybe It was the lighting. I stared into his eyes for a second trying to figure it out. I noticed how they looked like emeralds when they were green.

"Thanks Joey, you must have a tone of muscle to carry such a fat ass like me." I was only half joking.

Joey flexed his arms. "Just call me finnick." He laughed a little. What the fuck is a finnick? I didn't want to ask now. Maybe later.

I snapped out of the gaze of looking into Joey's eyes and looked around the room. I noticed Lisa was holding my hand and pulled her in for a hug. She held me tight.

"I'm glad you're alright Shane" she whispered into my ear.

I looked at Ingrid and Luke and gave them a half smile before turning my head back to Joey. And looked at his eyes again.

*Joeys point of view*

He's looking into my eyes. Wow my palms are now sweating. Maybe he's noticed my eye color change.

I wiped my hands on my pants.

"Are my eyes blue or green now?"

"There green" Shane turned his head to the side a little. Just the little movement made him even cuter.

"Ya they change depending on the light it's kinda cool, i guess" I smiled and so did Shane.

I saw a hand move between mine and Shane's gaze we both snapped out of it.

"I said Shane are you feeling better? Do you know what caused your anxiety to act up that bad?"

I let my eyes travel down Shane's body while he was lying on the bed. My eyes stopped at his wrists. His sleeve had moved up his arm a little exposing it. I noticed that they were cut up pretty bad. My first thought was maybe he fell or something. But then I thought maybe he did it to himself. Before I could figure it out Shane's other arm came and pulled it down. "Did he see me staring?" I asked myself.

"Um ya I feel much better just a little weak. I think just being in the middle of the cafeteria got to me." He shrugged. I could tell he was lying.

*Shanes point of view*

That was a terrible lie. There was barely anyone in the cafeteria.

The nurse came in and said two of them had to leave.

"Well me and Ingrid better go to our classes now then. Joey did you want me to show you were our class is or did you wanna stay here with Shane and Lisa?"

Joey stuttered for a second. "Um um. I just wanna make sure Shane's alright. He can show me when he feels alright."

"Well alright. See you to in class. Bye Lisa see you this weekend."

"Bye guys" Ingrid smiled and waved.

"Bye" Me, Lisa and Joey all said at the same times.

"That girl sure doesn't talk a lot." Joey pointed out.

"Ha she doesn't stop talking when it's just you and her, I figured that out in grade 9"

Lisa crawled on the nurses bed with me and put her arms around me. I really needed that. It felt good to be held. I kinda wanted it to be in Joey’s arms instead of Lisa even if I just met him today. Joey sat down on the chair to the right of my bed.

"Aww does somebody feel left out" Lisa joked.

"No I'm fine. My invisible girlfriend is hugging my side right now" he raised his arm and made it look like he was shouldering somebody.

Lisa laughed. I laughed too but it was fake. He said girlfriend. If he was gay he would have said boyfriend. Why did I even think he'd be interested in me.

After spending 5 minutes in silence and in Lisa's arms. I felt much better.

*Joeys point of view*

I wish Shane wasn't with Lisa and more importantly I wish he was gay.

*authors point of view*

Lisa can tell Joey and Shane having been making eyes at each other all lunch and just now to. Lisa thought it was cute.

"I feel better now. Thanks Lisa I needed that"

Lisa and Shane got off of the bed and Joey got out of his chair.

Lisa gave Shane one last hug and left the nurses office.

Shane and Joey were now left alone.

I wrote this on my phone so If something doesn't sound right. That's why. I'll be reading it through later and fixing it up. I might even change some things but I wanted to have something posted today. So ya. Sorry if its short I did it at work and now I'm posting if from my friends wifi.
