The closer Ray got to me the more nervous I got, the more my heart started to beat faster, the more I couldn't think right. Our lips were only inches apart, I took in a deep breathe and started to lean in. Then Tina came busing the door open, "why the hell is it dark in here?!"

"I turned the lights off" Dee said. Ray pulled back letting out a sigh and putting his hand back on my waist and they turned the lights back on. "Did y'all do anything?" Dee said.

"No and I wasn't planning on either." I said with attitude. Ray squeezed my side, I side eyed him and he half smiled when I looked at him. "Did you do it Ray?" Dee asked.

"No he did not" I butted in. Ray sat up and kissed my cheek and laid back on his arm smiling. I was blushing my cheeks were a bright red and I hit him on his arm. "Awwwwwww!!!!" Dee and Tina said at the same time.

"You didn't say where so he got a cheek kiss" he smiled.

"Adrian can I talk to you for a minute?" Jacob said. "In the hallway"

"Yea um sure" I got up and walked out the room closing the door so Dee and Tina nosey asses couldn't hear.

"What's up? What you need to talk about?" I asked.

"Why don't you like Ray?"

"He's too old for me and he rude."

"Really? You're gonna let age, a dumb number, come between y'all friendship? He's not that rude either, he's nice trust me I been around him all my life, don't let dumb stuff ruin good things. You know as much as I know that you wanted to kiss him that night, yes he told me, try being his friend you might end up liking him as a friend. If not then he'll understand, he's not rude he's nice as ever." He assured me.

"You're right.... It's not like me to be like that to people, imma try being nice. But if he crosses any boundaries I'm not afraid to slap him." I said.

"Alright alright, calm down when you start talking to him more you'll understand him and you'll know everything about him if you just ask." Jacob said and we walked back in the room Tina and Dee were sitting in chairs watching TV, Ray was sitting on the bed still but under the blankets. Jacob pulled a chair up next to Tina and sat down, I climbed under the blanket and sat next to Ray he looked over at me confused I half smiled at him and put his arm around my shoulder and laid my head on his chest. Ray sighed and smiled and we started watching TV.

"Well time flies doesn't it? It's about time for everyone to head home." Dee said, Jacob and Tina jumped up and said bye to everyone she was gonna go to his house and drop him off. I asked to stay the night and Dee said yea I can even sleep in her room because she sleeps in her mom's room when she's gone, Ray's gonna stay too but he has to sleep on the couch and he's fine with that he said. Dee went off in her momma room and Ray went to the bathroom my phone started vibrating, it was a unknown number, I answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Where the fuck are you?" Drè asked, he sounded like he been drinking.

"Are you seriously calling me drunk?"

"I was at a party and drank a little bit.. Where the fuck are you nigga?"

"Somewhere you're not Drè"

"You probably out fucking niggas with yo faggot gay ass."

"Drè loose my number and don't ever text or call me again. You're fucking drunk and decide to call me? What kind of shit is that? I'll beat your ass again you pulled MY hair YOU'RE the bitch." anger filled my eyes, I haven't heard those words since I was little and they still bother me no matter what. I was getting heated I wanted to just punch his fucking face.

"FAAAGGOT!!! go suck some dick that's what yo gay fucking ass good at doing anyways" I hung up the phone and turned my phone off and laid my head on my hands and tried not to let it bother me but tears started coming. I was crying, I was actually crying over garbage, I knew I said I wouldn't but those names affected me so bad my whole life I heard them over and over. I was mad and hurt, the bitch wanna do that to me like the fuck? Come on Drè, that's some sad ass shit. Ray walked back in and pulled me into a hug, "what happened Adrian?" I told him and he was about to snap, I put my head on his chest and Ray kept his arms around me. "Do you want me to stay in here with you?"

"I don't wanna be in here with my thoughts because to be honest I'd probably end up calling him back." I admitted lowly. Ray got up and took his shoes off, slipped his shirt off, and took his pants off leaving his boxers on. I curled under the blanket, I felt Ray's weight lay on the bed he put his arms around me and pulled me closer to him. I turned to face him and put my head in his chest he nuzzled his nose in my neck and I was getting sleepy, Ray held me close then I fell asleep.

Now what? I'm so confused my feelings are just ughhh what Jacob said had my thinking all night though, Ray been there for me even when I didn't want him to be.
