Chapter Four

Stefan's POV

I came back to Mystic Falls for Elena. When I saved her from that accident, I thought that I had found Katherine. I was foolish to ever think she made it out of that fire. But I had to know if it was her or not and I was going to ruin the life she made. But Elena is not Katherine and her life is ruined. Now that I've returned a innocent has been the victim of my kind again. I should've never come back and I'd planned to leave after I confronted Katherine, but then I met a beautiful girl. Something about her makes me wanna stay here with her forever. Forever won't last long for her though. Her name is Ava Santiago.

Caw!

I looked up abruptly from writing. Oh no. Fog was all around me. Caw! A crow flew into my room and landed on my journal. I turned to face the balcony of my room and saw him.

"Hello brother." He said with that annoying smirk.

"Damon." What is he doing here? It must've been him that attacked Vicky at the bonfire.

"It's been a long time since we last saw each other."

"What are you doing here?" I said as I clenched my jaw. He simply shrugs walking into my room from the balcony.

"I decided to have a little... Family reunion," that annoying smirk just wouldn't leave his face, "I've seen your girl, Stef. She's quite the looker aren't you guys going on a little date. But there's a certain brunette you've neglected to tell me about." I give him a confused look.

"Katherine! Katherine is back in town undercover. Wonder how many people she had to compel to convince them she's Elena Gilbert. Isn't she the real reason you're back?"

"No, Damon, I know what you're thinking but she is not Katherine. You're not getting her back. She's dead, get that through your head Damon." He just chuckled at my attempts to reach his humanity.

"Oh I know she isn't Katherine. She's only a distraction until I get Katherine back. She's a little to mopey for me. But your girl on the other hand," my blood was starting to boil, "What are you waiting for anyway? You had a chance with Elena and you didn't sink your fangs into her. Maybe I'll do it for you. Better yet, let's go right for Ava." I rushed at him fangs barred at the mention of Ava's name. We fell out of the window as I pushed him with all my might. I landed on the ground with a thud, Damon no where to be seen. I caught a glimpse of my hand and realized I didn't have my ring.

"Looking for this," Damon said throwing my ring at me, "that was foolish of you Stefan. You cannot beat me, not when you're eating the woodland creatures." He begins to walk away from me. I stand up to walk back into the house.

"I'm on a mission Stefan. I wouldn't get in my way if I were you. Or anyone. Now go freshen up for your date. Oh , and send my apologies to Uncle Zach." What the hell is he up to?

A/N
