Utterly Defenseless

Prologue ~

"Char, are you ready?"

"Yeah, I'm coming Jonny!!" I grabbed most of my clothes, which wasn't many, and I legged it down the stairs.

"Come on, we gotta get out of here!"

Jonny, or Jonathan as was his full name, was ushering me out without hesitation. I grabbed his wrist and ran for my life. A tingle was sent through my fingertips, but I ignored it. My life literally depended on it. I had an abusive mother, and a high and mouthy father. The other day, my mom went pshyco over a god damn C+, yet she said she would kill me. Last time, she said she would break my arm. I didn't believe her, but 2 days later, I was in a hospital bed, pushing the morphine button like no-one's business. I don't want to take any chances. I opened the door, and I stopped in my tracks. My eyes widened. My mom's car was driving toward the house. Jonny dragged me inside, and we climbed out the back window. I heard a car door slam.

"Charlotte Ruby Oplium! Get back here now, I need a..... a word with you."

I knew what that meant, and she was gonna carry out her threat. Tonight. I jumped over the fence with Jonny in front. I was hoping I got to a safe place. And fast.

3 blocks later:

Somehow, I didn't run out of stamina. I got to Jonny's house in time. His parents didn't mind me, so I didn't have to panic. I was safe. For now. My mom knows how I feel about him. She'll figure it out. But I'll enjoy his company while I can.

Hai guys! I hope you enjoyed the prologue of Utterly Defenseless!!! It's just an idea that popped into my head. The character Anna from mamie1990's story 'One night with the prince' inspired the backstory of Charlotte. I don't know how long I'm going to make this so prepare for updates! They won't be often, as I have school and stuff. But enjoy!
