Chapter 2: Truths Revealed
Jonathan's POV (Just as Charlotte told him about the abuse)
"Woah, woah, woah, you mean to tell me that if I help out my best friend, I'll die?" She then told me the story of how her mom broke her arm, how she knows she will carry out her threats, and the death threat. Oh my god, what has she let this spiral into?
"...and since my mom will figure out you're involved, she'll carry it out on you too." Wow. Poor girl. Her eyes were red and puffy on her pale porcelain - like face, and her brunette hair drooped down around her face, dull and dark. It was like her hair was in accordance with her emotions.
"This has been going on since when?" Please only be perhaps this year, maybe last so she hasn't been suffering long...
"Since I was about nine." Great, so she's been suffering since 3rd Grade. Now look what's become of the situation, her with a death threat on her head, bunking at my place, with her pshyco killer mom looking for her.
"You should have told me!" She was thinking with her head bowed low, a worried expression on her face. She lifted her head up and her eyes widened. She put everything in her duffle bag. and started walking to the doorway.I blocked her and said,
"Where do you think you're going? You can't leave alone!"
"Then you're coming with me." She dragged me behind her. She was stronger than she looked. I was dragged out the front door, away to someplace else that Char knew of. Wait, she hates when I call her 'Char'. Why didn't she correct me? Maybe she.... no! She just needed to leave, I think. But that's beside the point. A few blocks later, we come to a 2 story house with white wood panels outside. No it can't be...?.She was the school loner. It can't be Annabeth's, right?
