Tinaya:
The stairs went down into a cellar like stone room. There were tunnels and passageways you had to pass down in order to get there. They gave off the feeling of an old medieval castle with the fire lit torched attached along the walls. We entered the room through a heavy metal door that had a chain and a padlock the size of both my hands together.
They herded the five of us into the room and Nina stumbled while I walked over to the corner.
She talked and talked and talked until she fell into a snoring mess. I found myself drifting off. Whether it was from exhaustion, malnutrition or the delicious scent of roast pork and apple sauce wafting into the room from another room. The cold of a desert night fell all to familiarly around the room and I huddled myself closer into the corner as if I could disappear. The room was quite spacious. Especially as Nina and I were on our own while three girls huddled ten metres away from against the other wall. They were all a crying blubbering mess which seemed emotionally exhausting.
I drifted far away with the scent of roast dinners into a dream no better than reality.
"DANIEL! Where is he?!" Damien yelled.
My hands shook in sudden fear. I wore black leggings and a bright blue t-shirt. "Why are you yelling?" I whimpered weakly.
Damien was tall for a thirteen year old. He was already the than Daniel who was two years older. He wasn't even a lanky kind of tall. He was strong and fit; the fittest in the year.
"Because Daniel has taken something that belongs to me," his voice had lowered but there was an audible struggle.
"He's gone on a school field trip into the desert. He isn't meant to be back until tomorrow."
Damien began pacing his parent's lounge room as I sat uncomfortable on the couch. My heart was pounding as my hands couldn't stop fidgeting. Damien suddenly whirled around and grabbed me roughly by the arm.
"What are you doing?!" He was pulling towards the door.
"Shut up and get on your bike. You're going to show me where Daniel is..."
The scene shifted into darkness and the. Suddenly I was alone at night. Sand whipping at my face in the chilly night air. My legs ached from running. My throat stung from screaming.
Yet I screamed again at the stars. "DANIEL!" I don't know why I was screaming for him. Not after what I saw. Not while I knew that no one could hear me. Especially Daniel.
"Shut up! You're going to attract attention," a dishevelled blonde shook me awake.
"Who's Daniel?" Another girl from the emotional messes asked.
"Why do you care?!" I spat feeling suddenly defensive from the leftover fear from the nightmare. "Daniel is none of your business you little bitch!"
"I bet he's her boyfriend," the girl who shook me awake laughed.
Everyone laughed except for Nina who was still out like a light. My hands trembled; this time in anger. The three girls seemed to lighten up dramatically as they acted out screaming for Daniel.
I couldn't control myself. I ran toward the blonde girl. I grabbed her collar and swung her in a circle. After about two spins I let her go. She flew out of my grip and crumpled against the stone wall. The other two girls didn't stand a chance as I moved onto them next. Though, I commend their bravery.
They both moved towards me in an attempt to attack. Once they were both within arms reach I dropped to the ground. I placed both palms on the ground and swung my leg around in a helicopter-like motion. Both girls fell to the ground with an oomph from each of them.
The more courageous of the two tried scrambling to her feet but I brought my foot down on her stomach. She slammed back the floor and gripped her stomach in pain.
"RAAAAAAAARGH!" Someone battle cried from behind. I spun around and gripped the girl leaping toward by her neck. Her eyes widened as her hands scratched at my fist clenching her neck harder and harder. Her face turned red and her breaths became shorter and more desperate.
"Well, what do we have here?" Said a voice much deeper than anyone I recognised from the room.
I dropped the girl suddenly and spun around to look at the metal door that was flooding the room with a dull torch light. The girl pushed herself away from me and joined her friend who was fussing over the unconscious blonde.
"We have a girl who can rip your nuts off and make you choke on them if it tickled my fancy," I hissed violently.
"As much as I want you girls dead, I'm under strict orders to keep you alive," he folded his large arms across his chest and acted as if what I said was only a whistle in the wind.
"From who?" I asked.
"He wants to see you," he said and tilted his head at me. I stepped out of my way and placed his arm on the door to close it behind me. No one tried to make a move to escape. I looked back at Nina who was still asleep and then to the two girls. They both looked at me with a deer in headlights kind of look. I turned back to the man who began tapping his foot impatiently.
Setting my shoulders back and straightening my back I walked through the door and stood in the passageway for the man. He shut the door with a loud bang and then clicked the lock closed around the chains holding the door shut.
"This way ma'am," he waved his hand over his shoulder and walked down to the left.
"Did you just call me ma'am?!"
"I've been told to take care of you until further notice," he answered sombrely.
What kind of genocidal killers were they?
We arrived at a dark wooden door set in the opposite wall not far from my cell. He opened the door for me. Even with his back turned I could tell who was sitting on the heavily laden table. Whether it was the pent up anger, the nightmares or the leftover violent energy, I threw myself at the boy.
The man who came to bring me to him couldn't even register what I was doing. I slipped away from the man and hurtled my way toward him.
I was going to fucking kill him.
I was going to fucking kill Damien. The boy who murdered my brother.

A-N: Did I say I was going to try and update better, or did I say I was going to try and update better? *winks creepily for no particular reason*
Welcome back to Runaway. If you don't like violence then this isn't really the book for you because this wasn't even me at my worst...or best, depends on how you see it. So please, if you couldn't stomach the light violence, don't comment hatefully because I don't have time for that bull shit. Just do yourself and myself a favour and stop reading.
Mkay, danke. 🙃🙂🙃
