I walked home as slowly as possible. I didn't want to greet my dad at all. I was hoping he was back at the casino, gambling away his life.

I didn't have a watch, so I tried to check the sky for a time. The stars were out, so it was slightly harder to tell time than when the sun's out. I estimated it was around 8. So yes, there was a slightly higher chance of dad being at the casino right about now.

I started to run home. With any luck, I'd be able to sneak my horse, Pomade out and take her for a little ride.

When I reached the front door of the steps, I peeked inside the window to check if my dad was home.

I was in luck. Non of the lights were on inside. I slowly opened the creaky door to the house, just in case. When I verified that no one was home, I slammed the door as loud and hard as I could.

I turned on all the lights in sight, and started searching for Cat. She's always been scared of the dark which is one of the reasons that dad leaves all of them off.

"Cat!" I yelled trying to draw her out of her hiding place. "Cat!"

I walked around the house looking everywhere for her, but she was no where to be found. I couldn't just stop looking for her though. I started worrying. It wasn't her to just "Disappear" like this. I tried to think about where she would be, but nothing came to mind. Then it hit me.

I ran outside and grabbed Pomade. It wasn't weird to ride a horse around in Log Angeles. Especially in this part of town. I saddled up and put her rein on, and we were off.

I rode Pomade to the closest run down convenience store. Sometimes I would sneak out when dad was gone and come here. They still had good candy for the most part. The store never fully shut down. The owners had to leave on a moments notice, so little to no food was removed. Sometimes I would take Cat with me and we would feast on leftover soda and junk food.

I dismounted and walked into the store. It was pretty well maintained. There really weren't any rats that lived in here. Only the occasional spiderweb.

The cameras still worked really well too, and we would usually play robber in here. One of us would go to the back room and monitor the cameras while the other one had to "steal" an item from the selves. Then the robber had to run out of the store before being tagged by the security guard.

"Cat!" I started yelling again. "Ca-" I was briefly interrupted by the sound of my own name being called out. "India?"

I started running in the direction where I heard Cat's voice. "Where are you?" I screamed.

"I'm over here." She responded. I smiled. "You know, that doesn't really help me find where you are."

"Fine. Turn around."

I smirked, spun on my heel, and found Catalina covered in cheeto powder with a million cheeto bags sprawled around her.

"You know some of those are expired?" I told her. "Ya, but I made sure none of these were." She retaliated.

We stood there for a few seconds, and then I sighed. "You know," I said slowly. "I was starting to worry about you." She gave me a soft glare. "But just a little." I said, backing my stance.

She giggled and I told her that we should be heading home. "You can ride on the back of Pomade."

We rode back in almost completely silence. When we got home, Cat ran inside and I put Pomade back inside her stable. Fortunately, dad takes good care of her because if anything unfortunate happened to me, he could sell Pomade for a lot of money.

After puting her up, I walked inside. Just in time too. Dad's car just pulled up. He parked the car totally lopsided, which warned me that he was still totally drunk.

I sighed. I should warn Cat to stay away from him.

Hello my lovelies! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I'm really sorry I didn't post last week. Wattpad was glitching and erased my chapter but I recreated it as best as I could.

The pic above is kind of ur opinion. It was supposed to be of India, but the longer I look at it, the more I think it's Catalina. I know she looks small, which is why I think of Cat, but India was also supposed to be petite and somewhat small which is why it could also be her. Plus, the girl in "Absolute Zero" who I said was India also looks like an older version of this girl too so... It's really ur opinion who u think this pic is.

Anyways, I love all of u! Have a good day! 💗💗💗
