CHAPTER 5: Shin

Shin's PoV
Hi, I'm Shin a high determined 14-year-old boy that would do anything to get to an association named PAWS; I bet you know that...I recently knew of it in the shadows of the internet and I really do want to join...ever since I was young I had always wanted to help people and hope that I could somehow give change to the world...and find my family...I live alone but I love visitors

Once that I get accepted in PAWS, I would do my best! Always be optimistic! I'll make sure that I'll have the most number of people to be helped and protected!

One time I got lost in a , the people are active; selling whatever the things they sell in, until I caught a glimpse of a robber battling with an old woman for her purse, I rushed to the scene to help. The robber ran with the purse, I ran after him and managed to catch up in an alleyway, some people followed and blocked the other exit so he won't get away. The people got shocked when he pulled out a knife; I kept my guard up and tackled the man, trying to avoid his stabs, I got him pinned down the floor with his hands at his back. The people cheered and I dragged the robber to the police, giving back the purse to the old woman...

When that was done, a male around 16 with red hair and purple eyes approached me when I was walking alone in an empty street
"I'm Ringo, one of the Three Royal Guards from PAWS; I saw what you did back there...would you care to join us?" He showed me an ID
I was speechless...is this it? Am I really going to be a member of PAWS!?
"So, do you want to join or what?"
"...Yes...YES!!! Don't you know how long I've wanted to join your organization!? I couldn't believe it!!!"
"Come with me..."

We drove far away from the town, and ended up in a tall building...Ringo accessed to a keypad and entered. We went to a huge office at the near end of the building
"Is this the hero you've been talking about?" A woman in her early twenties said turning around from her chair
"Uh-huh, he's the one"
"Say, uh..."
"Shin"
"Shin, are you willing to join this organization?"
"Yes, Ma'am!"
"Very well then...we'll be training you and observing if you're qualified to be a member of PAWS...starting now you're a soldier (Not officially a member but works for PAWS)"
"Thank you, Ma'am!" I saluted

We went to a secret place where they train soldiers and see how well they do for a year...We entered the gate and-
"Oh My- THAT'S A LOT OF SOLDIERS!"
"Yeah...only about 5-10 out of them get pass every year"
"You're not kidding, are you?"
"It's true...the soldiers who fail, stays a soldier...they can quit anytime, it's up to them...And we'll see about you..." Ringo pointed at me then left

I...I passed...out of all of these people... I PASSED THE TRAINING!!!!! Is it just me!? Or am I dreaming?!
I feel like ripping my hair apart!!!
"Congratulations, Shin...for passing...here's your ID"
"Wow...thank you Ma'am Tsuyo!"
"Now, are you ready for your first mission?"
"I was born ready"
"I bet you know about the 'Death Girl'...do you?"
"The death what?"

Ma'am Tsuyo explained the unimaginably being that has powers to destroy anything or anyone that goes near her but I'm willing to take anything who ever this girl is...Ma'am injected me with blue liquid; that's probably the serum, she told me to guard the girl for 2 weeks and said to do my best to try and get some information, she said to me that I should also try to change her in any ways but warned me not to get too close to her. She also gave me a serum if I start to feel sick, before she finally set me off to do my mission
"Remember, it's for the safety of the people and" I wasn't able to hear the last part cause I was far away but I was sure that it's a secret
I turned around "Oh, but Ma'am what's her name?"

"...Machi..."
