CHAPTER 6: The Great Escape

Shin's PoV
The huge doors start to open...I took a huge breath and peaked. I saw her in the corner. She has creamy-blonde hair tied up in twintails, clear blue eyes, and ...very pale skin...She gave me a glare which caused a shiver to run down my spine, but I tried not to look freaked out and approach her in a nice way
"Hi-"
"Ugh! I can't believe they sent another one! I don't like humans! Especially the ones like you!"
I got surprised by her reply
'This is going to be a tough job...but...I ain't backing out now...'
Machi's PoV
The recent guard that was with me 2 hours ago died right here in my room, he pissed me so bad that I actually killed him; no, he killed himself! He gave me a hug! A freaking hug! Don't you know how much I hate those! I stayed in a corner
And just now there's a new guy! That organization is really ticking me off...they don't want to let me go...they're playing with me! And this isn't fun...

He has short brown hair and emerald-green eyes; he's slightly tanned and wears school clothes (?) He seems to be older than me for about 2-3 years
I tried to shake the new guy off and yelled at him which surprised him
"Okay...let's start again...Hi, I'm Shin...and you are?"
"I know you already know me...Machi..." I pouted
"It's a pleasure to meet you" He smiled
Why is he being so formal? Why does he talk like that? Isn't he scared?
"Hey...you...why are you so different?"
"Different?" He tilted his head a bit
"You're not like the others...you're not jumpy, not terrified...how could you stay confident when I could literally just kill you?"
"But you didn't...do you? You couldn't...cause everyone has a heart"
"Psh...oh please...it's not like I don't know that"
"You could've killed me right from the start, but you couldn't cause you, yourself hate the sight of people dying...don't you?"
"I...I..."
He smiled again and started to look around not really giving that much interest on my items
Did I...just got...blocked? I got...blocked...by a mere human! This is outrageous! I think...I think I can trust this guy...NO NO NO!!! He's just acting nice...but those words...they were real; and not a single word was fake...can I trust him? But, in the end his color will change cause if we do get close, after 2 weeks everything would change...wait...why did I even think that we're going to be close!? There's no chance that that'll happen!
Shin's PoV
I turned my back on Machi; she never moved from her spot...did I do that to her...? I have a plan! I bet she haven't seen the sun in years
"Machi! Machi!"
I saw her jump a bit
"W-what do you want...?"
"Let's get out of here"
"............NO!"
"Machi..."
"No! The outside world is dangerous for me! Humans are evil!" She fell to her knees with her hands on her ears and her head swinging 'no' repeatedly
My eyes softened...'she's such a baby...' I kneeled close to her and said
"Hey, hey, hey...don't worry, everything will be okay...no one will hurt you...I'll show you"
I stood up and offered her my hand
She stopped sobbing then looked at me, I signaled for her to take my hand, but she just stared at it then stood up by herself and stopped right at her door
"How are we going to get out when we're locked?"
"Hahaha...there's no door that is locked...watch and learn" I picked my ID then slid it at the side of the door to unlock it... I saw her eyes widen
"See...impressive, right?"
"W-whatever..." She said then followed at the back; taking little steps
"Never been outside?"
"N-no...it's just...I'm not used to the environment outside...I'm, I'm-"
"Scared?"
"...I think..."
"Then...hold on to me and don't let go!"
I grabbed her hand and run
Machi's PoV
H-he...he touched me! But...why didn't he got hurt? He just touched me! And I know that when people touch me they get burnt...why didn't he? I-I'm so confused right now! Is it because he's different? Or............is it because of me...?
I remembered the people who did the same and got hurt
"Ouch! Ow gosh that stings!"
"You shouldn't touch me..." I said while my head down
"Alright...let's go! We have so many things to do!"
We walked the long hallway still with my head down and thoughts of people hiding...my family...children running away... all of them would lock their houses once they see me in town...it's been years since I last saw them so frightened...I bet they wouldn't expect to see me in a normal and random day...I can't help but feel so horrible...
