Beauty and The Beast (Brock Lesnar)

Chapter Twenty

           Heyman coached Brock and I throughout the plane ride. We were instructed on things to say and things to stay away from. In WWE's eyes, Randy was still their employee and made them a considerable amount of money, but nothing compared to what Brock and I could if they kept us around for a few months. They didn't want us to destroy Randy, but they did want us to tell the truth and let the audience decide. I agree that it should be the fans decision whether or not they backed him.

           Once we arrived in New Mexico, we were ushered to a small office in the arena. A black screen had been placed against the wall with three chairs and a camera in front of it. Renee was already waiting on us and so was the cameraman. I knew that now was the time to clear this up so we could all move on with our lives. "Good morning! I assume Heyman has already informed you of how this will go?" Renee asks as we take our seats beside her. Heyman stands behind the cameraman and looks on.

           I nod. "Yes, we're ready."

           She looks to the camera. "Renee Young here with Brock Lesnar and Casey Bennett." She pauses and looks to me. "Casey, you've been out of the public eye for several years and a few weeks ago, you returned to RAW to continue your career. What made you come back?"

           "Almost eight years ago, I retired from the WWE. I had gotten married and became pregnant with my first child. I thought it was best to end my career, in order to raise my daughter. Not long after my daughter was born, I found myself divorced and living as a single mother. I continued through life with my daughter in my best interest. I took care of her and made sure that she had a normal childhood. A couple of weeks ago, I got a call from Triple H. He asked to meet with me while RAW was in town and I agreed. We had always been good friends, so I thought nothing of it. When he offered me my job back, I didn't think twice. I thought my career was finished eight years ago but thankfully, it wasn't. I knew that Alanna was old enough now and being only a part-time entertainer, I could still be with her six days a week. It was a no-brainer for me, though I did make sure it was okay with her."

           Renee looks down at her cue cards before continuing. "For those of you that don't know, Casey married WWE Superstar Randy Orton in 2007 and their divorce was finalized in 2009. First of all, Casey, I applaud you in being able to keep your child out of the public eye for so long. But as we all know, that became very difficult last Friday. You were photographed coming out of a Kentucky courthouse with Brock and Alanna, after what seemed to be a custody hearing. Why take Randy to court now?"

           "When Randy and I divorced, we both agreed that we would both have joint custody. Alanna was just a baby and we didn't want to go through all of that. Recently, when I joined the WWE, I began getting texts and phone calls from him, which was unusual since we only talked once or twice a year when I came to see Alanna. When he found out that I was being introduced as a tag team with Brock, he began threatening me. At first, I ignored him. I thought he was just riled up and needed something to take his frustration out on. Things got worse when he found out that Alanna and I had went up to visit Brock at his farm."

           She looks to Brock. "And how did that come about?"

           I watched as he shifted in his seat and for the first time, in front of a camera, I watched as he let the beast persona take a backseat. "Casey and I were talking backstage when Alanna called. She was telling Casey that one of the pictures she had drawn in art class was being entered in a local contest by her teacher. She told Casey that it was the one of the horse and I overheard. Casey introduced her to me over video chat and I asked if she liked horses. She spoke passionately about them for a while and then, I mentioned that I lived on a horse farm. She asked me a thousand questions about them and I just invited them down for the weekend so she could see them."
