(L/n) (Y/n) worked in the same cafe as Kuga Shu, but she decided to work longer shifts then him. If Kuga wasn't there (y/n) played the piano for him, but she played a different instrument. The violin...the violin was the first instrument she learned how to play, and she played every day no matter what. That's the reason why she worked at the cafe she did was because she could get payed to play the violin, and she loved every day of it. When ever Kuga walked in at night, there stood (y/n) in the corner playing a soft tune. Her fingers danced on the four strings, that rested on the neck. Her delicate fingers gently holding the frog of her bow. She mesmerized him, the way the moon light came through the window, pooling over her (h/c) like water, cascading down. Everytime (y/n) was done playing her portion of the night, she would go back to serving, cleaning dishes, and taking order while she heard Kuga's soft touch on the ivory keys. She couldn't believe that he was self taught, but he could still read music sheet. Even though the pair adored each other when they played they never really talked, because of Kuga's unsocial demeanor, and the fact that (y/n) was pretty shy. The most spoken words they have said to each other was a smile "hello" and "that sounded great".
Although on one particular night, it was slow in the cafe, but it was one of the clearest night's (y/n) had ever seen, despite the fact that she was in the city, she had never seen so many stars in her life, and she was inspired. She pulled out a napkin from her apron, and the pen she used to take orders, (y/n) started to write a composition, but not just a violin, but a piano. Another waitress, Utano who studied at Tokyo's Performing Arts Academy stared at the napkin composition.
"Oh that seems like a pretty song, but who's going to the piano?" She asked.
"Er...I don't know." (Y/n) replied quietly.
"Maybe you should play with Kuga kun." Utano winked, knowing her crush on the silent man. Blush rose to (y/n)'s cheek. "No way Utano!"
"Oh why not (y/n)?" Utano fake pouted.
"Well I don't really talk to him, and I have to work while he plays."
"Oh come on (y/n) have a little courage." Utano pulled (y/n) up by her hands.
"You can't wait for Prince Charming. He's out there playing the piano, and he has no idea that silenced Cinderella is out there writing a song met for him. Now gggoooooo." Utano commanded pushing (y/n) towards the piano. (Y/n) stumbled from the momentum, but something caught her. It felt warm...and soft? (Y/n) looked up to see the most handsome face in her eyes. She only got lost in the deep swirls of purple.
"I-I u-uh didn't mean to fall into." (Y/n) stuttered out, cursing at herself for jumbling her words.
"It's ok, I don't mind it." Kuga's deep, and quiet voice filled her ears.
"What is it that you need (y/n)?" (Y/n) stood up to her full height and handed the napkin to him.
"It's a song I wrote, and it includes a piano, I can't play both instruments at once so did you want to play this with me?" (Y/n) asked, hoping Kuga wouldn't turn her down. When no response came, she looked up to see Kuga's gentle smile.
"I don't mind, as long as you wrote it." Kuga took it napkin gently and stared at it.
"I'm not too good at how songs would turn out on paper, but this composition seems amazing." The compliment brought a smile to her face. Kuga sat down at his respect piano stool, and (y/n) came out holding her polished violin, but you can tell it was a bit old, because it showed signs of wear.
"Are you ready?" (Y/n) asked placing the violin under her chin. Kuga started to play the first few keys of the song, then (y/n) started to join, sliding the bow up and down the cords. The fine horse hair of the bow creating music that flowed together with the piano. After a few seconds all of the customers started to notice that tonight was a little different.
"Look, they have a violin and piano tonight."
"Yeah, they're a good pair together."
"They play so well, and in sync. They must be a couple."
As the duo played more and more customers and onlookers came to watch.
"What is with these two? So much passion is going into their music." More comments came, and Utano couldn't help, but crack a smile.
"I told you could do something great (y/n)." She said to herself, continuing to serve more people. After the last note was played all of the on lookers started to crowd around (y/n) and Kuga. Kuga then grabbed (y/n)'s hand, and ran out of the cafe towards his motorcycle.
"Where are we going?!" (Y/n) screamed out, terrified in what was about to happen. Kuga handed her a white helmet.
"Put this on."
"Ok ok." (Y/n) took the protection and slipped it over her head.
"Get on." (Y/n) climbed on behind Kuga, wrapped her arms around his waist, and they took off. All of the city lights started to blur around (y/n) as they sped off. This was just like a dream, and (y/n) didn't want to wake up from. Like they say, the violin and piano was a good team together.
