Annalee's POV

"What is the name of this place?" I ask curiously after we sat down. There's a moment of absolute silence between the two boys. "Old South Pancake House." Preston finally says.

I nod and pick up the menu. It's a good thing I really like pancakes. I find something that I would eat and I set the menu aside. "Annie, how do you like Texas so far?" Rob asks me.

"I'm not too sure...I haven't been here long enough to say much." I say quietly, pulling my phone out of my pocket. My brother nods.

"You say that every time I take you somewhere, Annie." Rob chuckles and I roll my eyes. "Yes, like I go anywhere much." I mutter, unlocking my phone and tapping on the Tumblr app.

I like to use Tumblr and see pretty amazing photos or just to see what's been going on in the world. It's pretty fun, to be honest. "Can I call you Annie?" Preston spoke up and I looked up from my phone.

"No. I don't know you well enough to let you call me that and it's a childhood nickname." I say quietly, looking away from the coffee eyed male and back to my phone.

Rob hits the back of my head gently. I look up at him, raising an eyebrow. He just pushes me gently. I push him back, resulting in a small push war.

"You're so silly." Rob laughs, tucking a stray stand of hair behind my ear. I roll my eyes, cracking a tiny smile. "Says the jobless man." I tease. He huffs. This entire time, Preston was watching the two of us have one of our sibling spats.

I immediately shrink under his coffee colored gaze. Then, the waiter that winked at me came back to take our drink orders.

"What would you like to drink, miss?" He asked, staring at me. "Coca-cola with no ice." I say, looking down at the table.

I see Preston raise an eyebrow out of the corner of my eye and a faint blush settles across my pale cheeks. "For you, sir?" The waiter, who's tag says 'Ty', asks Rob. "Water, please." My brother responds. Ty the waiter writes that down.

"And for you?" Ty says, narrowing his eyes and raising an eyebrow at Preston. "Water for me too, please." He says. The waiter scoffs but writes it down. I went back to my phone, feeling and wishing the booth we were sat at would just swallow me whole so I didn't have to feel like the waiter was looking at me like a piece of meat.

The waiter disappears and I let out a sigh of relief but I chose not to say anything about it. The two boys start to joke around and catch up with each other while I scroll through Tumblr.

I've never really talked with Preston so I don't have much to say to him. Plus, it seems like we're all content with what we're all currently doing.

"Coke with no ice for the lady." The waiter suddenly says, setting my drink down in front of me. "Thank you." I mutter, eyeing the drink warily. I've seen too many episodes of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit to know that sometimes guys spike drinks and I'm not willing to find out if my drink is spiked.

"And water for the boys." Ty mutters lowly, setting their drinks down roughly. "Are you ready to order?" He asks, staring at me hungrily. "I believe so." Rob says, picking up the menu.

"Ladies first." The waiter says sweetly. I wrinkle my nose, clutching the menu tightly in my hand.

Five minutes later, we already ordered and I refused to touch my drink in case the waiter somehow spiked it. I'm not taking any chances.

"Annalee?" Preston asks and I look up from my phone. "Yes?" I ask, tilting my head slightly. "Why don't you and I play twenty questions to get to know each other? Since I don't know you very well." Preston says. I bite my bottom lip and drum my fingers on the table in thought.

"Alright. You go first."

"Okay. Favorite color? Mine's orange."

"Purple and black. Favorite word? Mine is Shenanigans."

"Hmm. It'll have to be cactus." Preston says to which Rob laughs. "Of course it is. Anyways, continue." Rob chuckles, gesturing for us to go on. "Alright then." Preston says before he continues our game.

An hour and lots of laughter later, I felt a little closer to Preston. Twenty questions was a good way to look into someone's character. And apparently there were others back at Preston's place? I wonder what they'll be like...
