Chrene's P.O.V.
I had a awesome time with Ivan last week. The Halloween party he threw was sick! Waking up in Ivan's arms on the first day of November was very surprising, but I acted cool. It was so comfortable and he was so warm.. like a teddy bear. But what surprised me even more was that his grandparents owned a farm! His grandparents were so funny with their accent I actually liked it!
Gramma was a great cook. She cooked me meat loaf to desserts like, brownies and everything! It was amazing watching a cow give labor. Before Ivan dragged me out to ride horses with him his gramma was saying something to me.
"I haven't seen Ivan so happy in a long time ever since Maggie...-"
"Hey grandma!" Ivan's voice interrupted gramma's.
Then Ivan told her that we were going to ride horses. I've never ridden a real horse before! I looked at him, my eyes wide and he smiled, reassuring me. When he smiled, I liked that dimple that was in his left cheek. As we got on I was feeling a bit uncomfortable. We were friends and he was behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist in order to grab a hold of the horse. But I relaxed because it wasn't something new.
We started to talk then he went onto my family. Don't get me wrong... I love my family. It's just that I don't feel like I even have one. After I opened up a bit to him he hugged me from the back, obviously. He said he was sorry for all that he has done and I've forgiven him. But at the end he said,
"I'll tell you why I've done those things to you when the time is right." and his grip tightened around me.
What does he mean by that? But as we kept riding the horse I thought to myself...
Who was Maggie? The person gramma was talking about before Ivan butted in. Was she in his past? Did Maggie cause him to do worthless things that made people around him hurt? What effect did Maggie have on him?
I need to meet this Maggie.
Maybe Maggie knows something about Ivan that I don't.
I cared about Ivan as a friend..and I think I have the right to know why he's done those things to me in the past, even though I forgave him.
"Hello, Elaine." I say to Ivan's mother as I enter their house.
"Chrene!" She hugs me tightly. "Ivan's upstairs in his room."
I nod and thank her quietly. I was here in the morning to get Ivan so we could go to school. It was already 7 and school starts at 8.
Without knocking I entered. Ivan was still curled up in bed with his duvet like I expected. He was a heavy sleeper unlike me.
"Ivan.." I gently shook his shoulder. He didn't even budge. Each time I said his name, it got louder and louder. I finally gave up and went back downstairs.
"You couldn't get him to wake up, huh?" Elaine says.
"Sadly,no. What's your secret?" I ask.
"Anything besides yelling...he hates being yelled at to wake up." She says, grabbing her purse. Just when I was going to ask her to wake him up she says "I gotta get to work so please lock up after you two leave." she winks and slams the door shut.
So it was harder than I thought to wake Ives up. Sighing, I climbed back upstairs and into his room. He hasn't moved a inch! Since shaking him doesn't wake him up kicking should!
