I couldn't sleep. That women's message kept replaying in my mind. It was probably just some low life teenager that needed a good laugh. But what if it wasn't? What if someone is actually planning on taking James from me? I quickly brushed away the thought, and looked over at James. He was sound asleep, his nose twitching when he inhaled. I giggled before getting up, and heading towards the bathroom. I had made it to the hallway, when I thought I seen something move out of the corner of my eye. I stared, and tried to figure out what it was, but saw nothing.
"Damn, I'm losing it," I whispered, and continued on my journey. I finished my business, and turned on the faucet to wash my hands. I looked up at my reflection. I looked like a mess. My hair was matted onto one side of my head, and the bags under my eyes were so dark, they could win a world record. My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of shattering glass, and the slamming of a door. I shut off the water, and slowly opened the door. The pictures that were on the wall just minutes before, were scattered across the floor, and ripped. Our water pitcher, that was in the dining room was broken and sprawled across the table. I ran into our room, to check on James. There was a lump under the covers, that looked like his body. I pulled the covers off the bed, to make sure he wasn't hurt. In place of the sleeping James I had left just moments before, was a white mannequin with red spray paint spelling out the word Gone on it's side. No, this can't be. I ran into the dining room, and hit the "Call Last" button on the phone. The ringing seemed to last forever.
Finally I heard the familiar voice of a women, "Hello?"
"Hello! This is Rebel, you called me yesterday. James. He's gone. Who took him? Where is he?!" I had lost it. I was a sobbing mess.
"Meet me at 1321 Corner Road. I'll explain everything," The women said. The phone clicked, indicating that she had hung up.
Corner Road was a block away from the theater. I got dressed, put on a beanie, and left the apartment. I don't know what I'm getting myself into, but whatever it is, I'm ready.
