I woke up to realize I was still in this stinky ass van. My headache is so extreme right now. I remember putting up the fight of my life as they tried to tie me up, I'm assuming they got tired of struggling with me so they knocked me out. Psh, punks. "I can't fucking believe this. I've been kidnapped for a stupid ass thug." I thought out loud, not knowing or caring if they put Camo in this van with me.

"Damn, that's cold ma. You can make it up when we're outta here though." He said and then had the nerve to chuckle. "You need to shut up, it's your fault I'm in this position. And you think I'ma lose my v-card to you? You are a wacko sir" I spat. All he said in return is, "We'll see."

*3 hours later*

They pulled me out the van and into this house that smelled like blood and marijuanna, I felt like I was in the mafia movies tied to a chair in a dark room with one cheap ass light in the corner. But was I scared? Hell no. My mom's a cop, and one career day I went on a job with her. This was weak compared to what I've seen.

*Flashback*

"Stay close to mami hija" (stay close to mommy daughter) she said softly.

"Okay Mom" I replied

We were walking into a drug bust of one of the biggest drug lords in the state, I could tell she was scared. Not for her, but for me. I know what you're thinking, why the hell would she take an 10 year old child to a dangerous job?!! She had no choice, she had to teach me how to survive in this cold hood of harlem. Before walking in, she got on her knees and looked at me in my hazel-green eyes. "Babydoll, are you sure you wanna do this? I can take you home. Are you scared?". She let a tear drop and I was shocked, she never cried. But when that tear slid down her cheek, I knew she loved me with all she had. Well, I was all she had. My older brother was tooken away when my parents split up. He wanted us both but there was no way I was leaving my mom. She was all I had, as vince versa. "Don't you cry for me Ma, it's gonna be fine. And if it isn't, you've taught me well" I smiled as I pulled her in. I was scared too, I must admit. But I was gonna be strong for her.

Everyone made it out safe and all the drug dealers were taken to jail. The day was a success. We were happy for a short while. We got home and the phone was ringing, my mom answered and looked like she had seen a ghost. She snatched me up and pulled me into the car. We drove to the hospital passing lights, stop signs, and rushing the speed bumps. I kept asking who we were going to see, but she didn't respond. We waited for the doctor, a man in a white lab coat came out and said "Edwardo Lopez" I fell to my knees when I heard my Dad's name. He told us that he was murdered right after the drug bust. It was a warning to us.
