Chapter 2: Mischievous Mishaps
**••**
Link wandered back to the children and found Rusl just leaving.
"Ah, just in time Link! I just delivered something to your room! Oh, and I see you got the fishing rod, Collin will be pleased. Well, have a good one." Rusl smiled and Link nodded his head.
He walked over to Collin to thank him for his handy present.
"I got your present Collin... Thank you!" Link said making the boy smile.
"Oh you got it... I hope you like it..." Collin said shyly.
Link said goodbye and walked over to the children. He showed them the slingshot in his hands.
"Link has a slingshot! WOAH!" Talo said amazed.
"Wow! You had enough rupees to buy it Link?" Beth said in awe.
"That's right!" Link said happily.
"Let's try it! Malo?" Talo said with a smirk.
After a few minutes the children prepared a course of targets to try with the slingshot.
"Preparations complete..." Malo mumbled.
"Ok, wow this is great! Lets see how powerful that slingshot is!" Talo started.
"And how good you are with it Link..." Beth said smiling.
"Yeah whatever! Hit the targets AND the scarecrows!" Talo said smiling.
"Ok guys. Lets show you how it's done!" Link said proudly.
There were seven targets and Link shot one and got 'woahs' from the children.
"Whoa you hit it! You hit it!" Talo had his mouth open Beth stared in awe and Malo was unamused.
Once he hit all the targets everyone gasped.
"Woah! Amazing Link!" Talo and Malo had their mouths open and Beth looked at Link with a big grin.
"And that my friends," Link puts away his slingshot, "Is how it's done."
"Gee, you really are amazing Link!" Talo said amazed.
"And handsome..." Beth said lowly for only Link to hear.
"Collins dad brought you something..! What is it?!" Talo asked.
"I command you to tell us..." Malo mumbled.
"I don't know... Let me go see." Link waved to them and climbed the ladder to his home.
He found a blue chest in his living room. He opened it and found his old wooden sword!
Link cherished this sword so much. He's had it since he could hold a sword. Rusl said it was with Link when they found him. Link used it but it broke so he asked Rusl to repair it. Now he got it back!
He went outside and showed the children his new item.
"Ooh, Link you got a wooden sword!" Beth said.
"Whoa... She's right! Hey, can I see it for a sec?" Talo asked.
"What for?" Link asked.
"Lately these monkeys have been coming out of the woods and playing tricks on us! We want to get them GOOD!" Talo said with determination in his eyes.
"Can you teach us how to use it??" Beth pleaded.
"Sure... Why not? It may come in handy..." Link said unsheathing his sword and standing in front of the scarecrow.
