Chapter 5: The Forest Temple
~• £ink's POV •~
It was pitch black as I entered the temple. I saw a faint light in the distance. I decided to walk toward it as I entered the first room to the temple.
Totem poles alined the pathway to to a a cliff with vines. Plant monsters hid in the ground, but their roots still visible. Spiders clung on to the vines, and keese flew in the air.
I walked the path fighting plant monsters and keese. Then a plant monster bit my hip and clutched me in its jaws. I struggled to get out of its grasp.
"Urragh!"I unsheathed my sword and stabbed its head.
It let out a terrible shriek and I freed myself. My vision was blurry and I felt weak.
"Link!!"
"Unnh..." I fell to the floor and everything went black.

I woke up in the same place Midna by side again.
"Wow! He got you good!" Midna tried to joke.
"How long was I out?" I asked.
"A few hours... That plant is called a Deku Baba. It had razor sharp teeth and venom that it injects in you. Nothing too serious..." She said smirking.
"Ugh... Lets keep going..." I said while struggling to get up.
"If that little thing is gonna stop you... Well, you better be prepared for the tougher enemies..." Midna smiled and left to my shadow.
I walked down the path slicing the Deku Baba's stem for an immediate kill. I killed the spiders that hung on the vines with my slingshot and proceeded on.
At the foot of the cliff, there was the girl monkey locked up again. I slashed at the wooden cage and released the monkey. She celebrated and climbed up the vines.
"Hey! That's the monkey that stole your lantern!" Midna said.
"Oh yeah. She's a real troublemaker." I said reminding myself of the kidnapping and the cradle incident.
"She wants you to follow her again.." Midna disappeared into my my shadow.
I climbed up the vines and opened the first door to the temple. It was heavy but I managed to move it.
In the next room of the temple, their were three doors. One straight ahead, one on the right, and left. In the middle there was stairs that led to an elevated wooden platform. As I walked toward it a giant spider fell on me.
The monkey shrieked and I got the giant thing off me. I flipped it over with some hits and stabbed its stomach. It crumbled up and died.
"Woah. That's a big spider." Midna said.
"Told you we'd meet it." I said out of breath.
I climbed I the top of the platform that had four torches at each corner.
"Look at all these torches... Is this some kind of alter? What would happen if you lit them?" Midna asked.
"I'm about to find out." I lit the torched with my lantern.
The ground started to shake as 3 wooden platforms rose, allowing me to cross to the room straight ahead. The monkey followed me close behind.
As we entered we were on the outside of the temple. There was a frail bridge that led across a wide gap.
"That doesn't look very stable..." I mumbled.
The monkey went ahead and about halfways, a monkey bigger than it came out.
