WhiteWhisker stared at the sky. It was night, and practically everyone was asleep. He nudged GreenMeadow awake. "What?" she quietly hissed. "Lets go for a walk." "No." "Please....." he begged. "Fine." she sighed. They padded into the forest, walking silently, side by side. They walked and walked, and eventually came to a lake, but it was small. "No cat scents, we shouldn't be in another clan's territory." WhiteWhisker meowed. GreenMeadow nodded slowly. They sat at the shore, staring at the ripples. "I'm going to try and swim." GreenMeadow meowed. "Are you sure?" "Yes." "Okay, well then I'm going in with you." WhiteWhisker replied. They dipped into the lake. WhiteWhisker swam smoothly while GreenMeadow thrashed around. "Your scaring all the fish." he purred. She snorted, and swam away. WhiteWhisker embraced the silence, floating gently on the top of the water. Suddenly he heard a screech, and his ears perked. GreenMeadow! He looked around, it was eerily quiet. Then, he saw bubbles appear around the middle of the lake. He squinted his eyes, and dived down underwater. He looked around and saw GreenMeadow, her body limp, her belly facing up. She was sinking down, her eyes were closed, and bubbles were coming out of her mouth. He swam as fast as he could over to her. WhiteWhisker fastened his teeth into her scruff, and pulled her up. Eventually, they reached the surface, and WhiteWhisker took a deep breath, and pulled GreenMeadow to the shore, where she laid limp like fresh kill. He stroked her belly with a forepaw, and eventually, she vomited up water, and gasped for air. After she started to breath steadily, she shook her pelt, which was wet and spiky. "I thought I lost you...." WhiteWhisker murmured into her ear. "I thought I was dead." she shivered. Then, her eyes locked with WhiteWhisker's, and her gaze softened. "You saved my life..." she murmured, "For that, I am grateful. I will give you a chance, and let go." she whispered. WhiteWhisker's heart pounded, and his eyes widened into two tiny moons. "So its official?" he whispered. She nodded. "Lets head back to camp." WhiteWhisker whispered.
