As the lights shine on the sleek black Impala, moving as fast as the car itself. The trio drives into the night. Dean driving with thoughts flowing around his head, Sam staring off into the distance and Katarina asleep on the tough black leather seats. Her protecter Hunter snuggled next to her in his animal form. The Three of them had decided to keep moving on, not letting Kat's new discovered powers hold them back.
As Dean drove, his eyes flickered from the long never ending road to his sister. Her blonde hair covered some of her pale skin, her the side of her mouth twitching as well as her cheeks from her dreams. Dean wished it was different for Kat. When John brought her in and took her as on of his own, Dean's heart tore. He was so excited to have a sister, he wanted Sam to be one, but was still happy to have a sibling. However, Dean was well aware she would be dragged into the hunting life. It was bad enough Sam was going to as well, so his heart sank from that. Kat and him were always close. He starts to smirk at the memory of her when she was younger, the trust she put him.
Dean sits at the table in the dusty motel. Their father leaving once more for another hunt. Dean was Twenty-one. He took a sip of his cheap of the cheap whiskey, the golden liquid burning his throat every sip. The door slams closed. Dean looks up, to see Fifteen year old Katarina. Her eyes stayed on the floor and her steps were staggered, her body was swaying the opposite way of her feet. Dean tried not to notice, until she fell and started to cry. Dean rushed to her side, and thats when he smelt it. Alcohol and Pot. Dean tried to hold back his anger. He sat her up, and brushed away the dark brown hair covering her face. He raised her chin to see those bright blue eyes. Instead he saw a slight blue rim around the grown black pupil, the white in her eyes covered in a red tinge.
"Kat, what happened?" He said softly, not wanting to scare her anymore. He wiped the dripping tears off her flushed cheeks.
"I..I did what Sam said to do." She choked out. Dean's anger filled even more.
"He told you to do this?" He growled. She shook her head.
"He said to make friends." Dean's face fell. Kat never usually went to school with them. John taught her how to hunt and that's it. She knew how to get rid of a ghost, but not the history of Lincoln. She knew how to pick a lock, but not how to write a paragraph. Dean finally was able to convince John to leave her behind this hunt and go to school, with Sam's help. He agreed. Today was Kat's first week of school. He told Sam to keep an eye out for her and help out.
"What did they do?"
"I met Marcas, he seemed nice. He introduced me to his friends. Jacob, Lily, Anna and Killian. They were really nice. We went to parks and drove around just laughing. Then Jacob pulled out the whiskey, like what we use on Dad. I said I didn't want any, but everyone pushed for it. So I drank it, most of it. Then Killian lit up this thing with brown paper around it. It had a weird smell. They taught me how to smoke it and....and then I remember waking up in the park alone and somehow getting here." She said, crying more towards the end. Dean wrapped his arms around her, comforting her as she cried. Most people weren't like that, but it was her first time really around people her age and they ruined it for her.
"I'm sorry sweetheart." He whispered, as he rocked her back and forth. He kissed her head.
"Is that what people are like?" She asked him, gripping on to his arm as she buried herself into his chest.
"No, there are good people."
"Like us?" She asked as she rose her head to see his face. Dean nodded.
"Just like us." He smirked.
After that day, Kat had trust issues but always had Dean. Dean and her trusted each other like no one else. When Sammy had left, they became closer. Now she was what they would hunt. He would never hurt her, he just wasn't sure what to do. When John was to come with them, Dean stopped him. Not only for his father's safety, but for Katarina's. He would never leave her, they relied on each other and no one could change that. No magic, no person or monster could.
As Sam's eyes grazed the trees whooshing by, he worried. He worried about himself. He worried for his father. He worried about his revenge. But most of all he was worried about Kat. The two never could be separated as kids. They were three years apart and they would tell each other everything. Sam was the one who kept her company, was her friend not only her brother. When they were little, Sam had Sully while Kat had no one. Dean and John didn't believe in Sully, but Kat did which made him feel better. After he left, they grew apart. Now they were together once more, making new memories. However her new powers made him worry. Dean wasn't a fan of Sam's visions at all, and now Kat is a witch. He worried Dean would snap or John would find out and kill her. A noise from the back of the car snapped him out of thought.
"Johnny.....sloppy..." Kat mumbled in her sleep. Sam started to chuckle, he remembered what it was she was dreaming about. It was years ago.
Sam and Kat had to stay at Bobby's. Dean and Dad left for a week and they were going to a local school. Sam finally got Kat to break out of her shell after the incident a few months ago. Sam was sitting on the couch reading a book for school when the couch deepened due to a weight on the other side of him. Kat sat next to him staring at the other side of the room, Sam could tell she was deep in thought. Sam was 19, getting ready for college. Sam was taking local classes to help.
"Kat you good?" He asked. She blinked a few times.
"You...you know Johnny from school right?" She asked. He nodded. Johnny was a senior, and a wanna be bad Ass. He smoked and rode a motorcycle. Kat would blush when he saw him.
"Yeah..."
"He...he kissed me." She said quickly. Sam started to grin. He nudge her shoulder.
"Look at you Winchester, grown up." He chuckled. KAt shoved him playfully.
"It was just a hook up.....I mean we made out and stuff..." Kat said quietly, incase Bobby or Dean came out of now where.
"Other stuff?" Sam asked concerned. Kat knew what he was asking.
"Yeah, sex Sam." Sam's hands clenched in fists. His brotherly instincts were kicking in. "And Man is he sloppy! I mean he has no Idea what he is doing!" She groans as she stands and grabs her hair in frustration. Sam's fist disappear and he starts to laugh.
Kat and Johnny never were a thing, but she taught him a thing or two. Sam was there for everything. Her first kiss, her first time being able to read a book, and most importantly, the first passing grade she got. Sam gave her normalcy for once. It what made them unique. They were bonded together. Through think and thing, through hell and death. No matter they would be together. Even with her new abilities, he trusted Hunter to help her. Sam would never throw her away.
Who knew how wrong they would be....
