As soon as everyone was ready, including a quick instruction to Hunter about how this all goes down, we were headed to the barn full of vampires. There was no levels, just on tall wall. A large window was our way in.
John went first, pushing the shutters lightly. The old wooden doors squeaked, but not enough to ring the dinner bell. He hopped over, landing on the large barrels of hay. I went next, followed by Sam, Hunter and last was Dean. The crunching hay under my feet was stacked well enough that we didn't have to worry about sinking through.
There in the worn out barn was hammocks of old netting and yarn. One or two bodies in each. I could only assume they were vamps. Luckily, the bloodsuckers were asleep making our lives slightly easier. John went up to the small upstairs canopy while the rest of us stayed on the bottom.
The floor itself was a mixture of hay, dirt and rotten out wood. The creaking echoed as we stepped. Me and the three boys weaved through the hammocks of monsters, investigating and being cautious. The vamps didn't look like vamps. They looked like normal people who raved way too much and needed more clothes.
All I hear is a bottle ring and I turn to see Dean knocking into one of the hammocks. The Vamp begins to stir and we all freeze. Fortunately, we were fine. I gave Dean one hell of a stare down.
"Guys!" I hear Sam whisper. He was bent down next to one of the poles. A girl slumped against there was tied to it. Her once bleach white blouse was splattered with blood. As Sam starts to untie her, she begins to whimper. Hunter places a hand over her mouth lightly. A small bang echoes and Dean looks at us.
"There's more." Dean whispers. I follow Dean as Hunter and Sam stay back with girl. Through the boards and the chicken wire, bodies of people tied up filled the room. They were the cattle. The room was locked with a padlock. I nudge at Dean and he steps back. I place my hands around it, and try to use some magic.
"Reserare." I whisper and a faint purple glow follows. I begin to grin, seeing that I can actually do this. Dean on the other hand was not to happy. I removed my hands, only to see it didn't work. "Fuck."
Dean smirks and grabs the cattle hook from the rack. I follow his lead and hold the door as he uses the leverage to yank the hinges off. He did one and it made a clanking noise. We froze and looked around to see if we had any effect on the sleeping beauties in the room. Some stirred in their sleep, but we were in the clear.
"Hey." I heard Sam whisper, I look and see Hunter's hand is no longer holding her mouth. She begins to open her eyes. "Hey, Hey, shh. We're here to help you."
The girl begins to Roar, like a monster. No way in hell was that not waking everyone up.
"Damn it Sammy!" I growled as I yanked out my blade. A large thump came from upstairs and I knew it was John. "Hunter, adiuvent eum (help him)."
Hunter nodded and focused on Sam. I had a whole other mess to deal with.
"Kids, Run!" I heard John yell. We didn't need another moment to think about it. all of us began to run. Vamps growled and snarled as they began to make a bee line for us. Quickly we ran through the barn doors into the sunlight. It was unlikely that the camps would follow. It wasn't a long run to the Impala, except John wasn't right behind us.
"DAD?!" Dean called out as we looked around. "DAD?!"
Soon a figure began to run towards us and it was John. A sense of relief flowed through me.
"They won't follow. They'll wait till tonight. Once a Vampire gets your scent, it's for life." John told us.
"Awesome." I said out of breath.
"What the hell do we do now?" Dean asked as he kept an eye out for anything.
"You got to find the nearest funeral home, that's what." John ordered. Dean looked confused, as did Sammy but he always looks confused.
"Dead man's blood?" I asked John. He nodded. "Awesome."
"Dean, you got this. Meet me in at the cabin, and I'll explain the rest." John ordered once more then took off in his Jeep. The rest of us loaded into the Impala. I looked at Hunter, who seemed a bit taken back by all of this.
"So Hunter..." I started off with.
"How did you like your first official hunt?"
