Steffi POV

I stir around in my covers for a moment, trying to gather everything in my mind. I reach out next to me to only feel a soft plush pillow. I can't help but frown. What day even is it?

I let out a long sigh as I sit up in my king sized bed. I look around the dark room, seeing all the curtains closed so no light could even leak in.

I try deciding wether or not to get up and actually do something, seeming how I haven't done much lately. I groan quietly as I swing my legs over the side of the bed. My bare feet touch the cold hardwood floor.

I stand up and stretch my hands up towards the ceiling while I let out a long yawn. I turn around towards the bed, slightly hopeful as I look to see its empty.

I laugh as he kicks open the door. I grin looking at him as he swings me in his arms bridal style. I chuckle  as he lays me down on the bed carefully, "What are you even doing!?" I laugh throwing my head back, making it hit the soft plush pillow. He smiles hovering over me. He bends down a bit to my ear, "I'm about to make love to my wife," He whispers softly in my ear, "Mrs. Espinosa." He grins saying the name as he leans down and softly connects our lips.

I stare at the bed for a moment feeling a wave of sadness crash over me. I shake my head and let out another small sigh and turn around, walking towards the door. I grasp the handle and twist it, opening the door to reveal the wooden staircase. I walk down the steps one by one, finally reaching the bottom step.

I step onto the hardwood floor and turn left, walking into the small kitchen. I open the fridge to see nothing that looks good, food wise. I grab a water bottle and put it on the kitchen island.

I turn around to see the homephone is blinking green, which means I have messages. I let out an annoying groan.

I honestly don't need pity. No I don't want to talk.

I walk to it and harshly press the button to play the messages. Marlee's voice comes from the speaker.

"Hey Steffi," She says very softly and carefully, "Look, we haven't seen you in a few months.. The family misses you. We all really want to see you. I know it's hard because of-"

My eyes widen and I quickly press the next button, not wanting to hear the end. I feel the sadness seep back into my veins, the stress. I snatch the water bottle off the countertop and unscrew the lid. I start to down my water.

"Hey Steffi," Cameron's voice softly comes from the speakers this time. I lean against the counter raising my eyebrows, very surprised he called, "I was wondering how you were doing.. I know a lot has happened,"

That's for sure

"But you really do need to get out. It's been a few months and we all really miss you. Please call me back as soon as you get this message.. Bye." He ends the call.

I put my empty water bottle down and cross my arms, deciding wether or not I should call back. I decide on Why Not?

I walk to the phone and snatch it, dialing his number. I haven't talked to him in so long. I put the phone to my ear and wait as it rings. I cross my arms as I lean against the wall, waiting for him to pick up. After what seems like forever, he answers.
