The night in the hospital was annoying. Every couple of hours a nurse would come into our room and wake us both up to make sure we weren't concussed. By the time the sun came up Amanda and I were both over tired and just wanted to go home. The doctor came in around 8am and gave us the paperwork so we could leave. I don't think Amanda and I could have gotten ready to leave faster.
Before we left though I made a visit to the nurses station. Amanda thought I was just handing in the paperwork but I really had a question to ask. The nurse didn't really want to do it but she was my attending nurse from the past two days. She knew what was going on only because she was in the room when Sophia went over things with me and wanted to know about my injuries.
So the nurse took me into a little room and drew some blood from my arm before she showed me to Tess' room. The police officer standing in front of her door let us pass after she showed him her badge. Walking into Tess' room I could see that she is on deaths door. Her face is pale and her skin is ice cold. I had to poke her hand to make sure this wasn't some joke.
The nurse took some blood from Tess and she was out of the room off to test it. She said the test would take a little while and she will call me when it's done. I slipped her a hundred dollar bill before meeting Amanda back in our room.
"What took so long?" She asked when I appeared in the room.
"I just had a question about my wrist because it felt like it was burning." I lied and grabbed the bag from the bed.
"Are you okay?" Amanda asked and took my hand.
"Never better." I said and kissed her cheek.
We walked out of the room to see John and Luke sitting in the waiting room. The boys took us home after a lot of thanks from Amanda and myself. They actually stayed at our place with us because they didn't want to leave us alone. The boys took the guest room while Amanda and I made our way to her room. There are three half packed suitcases on the floor along with clothes all over her bed.
"Did you still want to go away?" Amanda asked remembering our plans to go to her home country.
"You bet it. I need to get away from all of this craziness." I said.
On my way to the nurses station I asked Luke to rebook our flights for Thursday morning. They were originally set for today but we couldn't make it. So now they are for Thursday morning. John and Luke are coming with us as well. Isabella wouldn't let us leave unless protection came with us.
I didn't care, John and Luke are friends and they are happy to get away for a while. Amanda and I got into the shower together then got settled into bed. Luke ended up cooking for us and even delivered it in bed. Amanda was surprised but we just enjoyed the food. When we were done Amanda and I both didn't last much longer as we slipped into sleep.
Tuesday was spent mostly in bed sleeping. Neither Amanda nor I had any extra energy to do anything. The only time I got up for more then ten minutes was when my phone rang. I give the general rule to everybody I know that no news is good news so I rarely get phone calls.
"Hello?" I asked as I stepped into my room and closed the door not to wake anybody up.
"Yes, hi, is this Veronica?" A woman asked.
"This is she, how may I help you?" I asked.
"This is Nurse Meg Titan from the hospital. I have the results from the test we ran yesterday." She said.
My stomach dropped as I let go of the breath I was holding. Even though I did want answers I don't really want to hear what she has to say.
"Was she telling the truth? Is Tess really my half sister?" I asked.
