The phone rang twice before he picked it up.

Dad. It's me.

Chloe? What's going on? We haven't heard from you since you left!

I said I wanted to make it on my own!

But we were not sure if you were even alive. You never called. So why now?

I need a favor.

--FLASHBACK--

Mum: Chloe, darling! Are you really sure you want to leave? You can stay with your aunt in Florida. Why does it have to be London?

C: Mum, please! You don't understand!

Dad: You're right, we don't! But you never explained it to us. All you said was you had to leave.

Mum: Honey, we don't have anything against you leaving New York, there are plenty of places you could stay at. We just don't understand why is has to be London!

C: I just want to be as far away from New York as possible.

Dad: Why? What happened in Los Angeles? Something must've happened. You were fine a month ago...

C: I told you, nothing. Besides, you knew about my plans. You knew I wanted to leave the country. Why are you acting so surprised?

Mum: Rob, she's right! She can stay with her cousin!

C: Who?

Mum: You remember your uncle Jake? Him and his wife got divorced when you were a baby. He moved to Sydney and your cousin lived with your aunt in London.

C: And you're telling me now? That's perfect! I could stay with them!

Dad: I'm not sure about that! Bridget's mum died of cancer last year. Left her daughter in debt. I called her the day of her mother's funeral. That was the last time we spoke. I don't know if she's still in London.

Mum: Wait! I think I still have her number somewhere.

Dad: Do you need something else, Chloe?

C: Like what?

Dad: I don't know. Money?

C:I put away enough savings over the last couple years. I think for starters I'll be fine.

Mum: Here. That must be it. Rob, call her.

Dad: Why me?

C: Just do it daddy!

--END OF FLASHBACK--

Anything. I'm so glad you're okay! Your mother and I, we were worried sick!

I ... Bridget and I, we want to open our own business. We found the perfect location, but the rent is a bit high. And I thought maybe you could help us out for a couple months. I already got signed to the best model agency in the city. It's only a matter of time until I can pay the bills myself.

How much are we talking about?

$2,000 a month.

Chloe...

Dad, I know, it's a lot. But it's a two-story building. I can use the top floor as an apartment.

I thought you lived with Bridget?
