"W-who are you anyway? You could be a murderer for all I know…” the man chuckled to himself.

“Well you’re right about one thing, but I’m not going to kill you, don’t worry about that, I practically saved your life today,” he reached one hand out and I shook it, “I’m Jack Haze.” He gave me a little smile then turned back to the wheel. Jack Haze rung a bell in my mind but I just couldn’t put a finger on where I recognised his name from. I closed my eyes and thoughts were running through my mind and each and every one of them were about Conor. Will he survive? If he does how long will he be in hospital for? What happened? How did it happen? Who did it? There was no doubt about it…I was scared.

As soon as the car stopped, I sprinted to the entrance of the hospital. I’ve never liked hospitals, they represent death to me…that’s why my heart began to pump faster as soon as I entered the doors. I went up to the lady at the front desk and she looked up at me over her glasses. “How may I help you?”

“My boyfriend was stabbed, Conor Maynard?” The lady looked down at her desk and flicked through a book.

“Ah yes, I’m afraid you can’t go and see him right now. He’s in an operating room, I can tell you where he is but you may not go into the room until you have been told to.” I nodded my head at her and she looked down at her book. “Okay if you go to the 3rd floor he’s in the 4th operating room, there are seats outside where you can wait.” I nodded my head and made my way quickly to wear I was directed to. I went down the corridor. Room 1…Room2…Room 3…Room 4. Conor’s limp body lay flat on a table. He had pipes travelling a dark red liquid through them and he had a breathing mask on his face. He looked weak…There was four people around him making sure he was okay. They turned their backs on him and began tidying up the surroundings; hopefully I’ll be able to see him soon. The machine next to him began to beep rapidly and all eyes were on him again. The people rushed over to him and began doing something to him, I couldn’t see properly and I was getting worried. The beeping slowed down; it was getting slower and slower until it just went dead.

“CONOR!” I ran into the operating room and one of the ladies grabbed onto me but I forced my way out of her grip. I ran over to Conor and shook him. “WAKE UP CONOR!” Tears were falling down my cheeks as he wasn’t responding. Two pairs of hands gripped my arms and began pulling me forcefully out of the room. “LET ME GO!” I tried to wrestle off the strangers that were tugging me out of the room but it was no use. They pushed me down onto a seat outside and bent down to make eye contact with me.

“Miss, you have got to stay out here for his own good! We’re doing everything we can to save him so just wait here okay!” I nodded my head and tears continued to fall down my face. The two men rushed back into the room and I stood back up and watched from the window. Conor’s body jolted upwards as he was shocked, trying to get his heart beating again. Nothing. The process was repeated again. Nothing. I brought my hand up to my mouth and tried to hold back the sobs that were begging to escape. Conor was shocked again and again…Nothing.
