Bruce Banner was in Calcutta working with people who were sick with a strange sickness when a little girl came rushing in. "Who are? What are you doing here? There is sickness here. Get out!" A woman he worked with said to the little girl. "You're a doctor. My father's not waking up! He has a fever and is moaning but his eyes won't open." The girl said. Bruce walked over to her. "Slow down." He said. "My father.." She trailed off looking at the other sick people. "Like them?" Dr. Banner asked pointing to the sick people. She held out the money. "Please." She said.

Dr. Banner followed the little girl to her home. They went through dozens of streets and alleys avoidning the officials. He followed her inside and watched her climb out the window in the back. "You should've got paid upfront Banner." He said annoyed yet amused at the same time. "You know for a man who's supposed to be avoiding stress you picked a hell of a place to settle." Said a voice. Natasha Romanoff stepped out into the room. "Avoiding stress isn't the secret." He replied. "Then what is it? Yoga?" She said smiling. "You brought me to the edge of the city. Smart. I assume the whole place is surrounded?" He asked looking out the window. "Just you and me." She said. "And you're actress buddy? Is she a spy too? Do they start that young?" He asked. "I did." She said. "Who are you?" "Natasha Romanoff." Dr. Banner looked down and then looked her in the eyes. "Are you here to kill me Mrs. Romanoff? Because that's not going to work for everyone. He said. She stepped towards him. "No, of course not. I'm Here on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D." "S.H.I.E.L.D. How'd they find me?" He asked. "We never lost you Doctor. We've kept our distance. Even helped keep some other interested parties off your scent." She replied. "Why?" He asked confused but masking his face. "Nick Fury seems to trust you." She said smiling. "But now we need you to come in." She said. "What if I say no?" She smirked. "I'll persuade you." "And what if the other guy says no?" He asked. "You've been more than a year without an incident. I don't think you want to break that streak." She said walking over to her bag. "Well I don't every time get what I want." He said. "Doctor we're facing a potential global catastrophe." He laughed. "Now those I actively try to avoid." She walked over to the table pulling up something on her phone. "This, is the tesseract." she said sitting down and sliding the phone across the table. "It has the potential energy to wipe out the planet." Dr. Banner picked up the phone to get a closer look. "What does Fury need me to do, swallow it?" He asked annoyed. "He wants you to find it. It's been taken. It emits a gamma signature to weak for us to trace. There's no one who knows gamma radiation like you do. If there was, that's where I'd be." She said leaning back in her chair. "So Fury isn't after the monster?" He asked. "Not that he's told me." She replied. "And he tells you everything?" She leaned forward in her chair. "Talk to fury he needs you on this." She said. "He needs me in a cage?" She slid her hand across the table. "No one's going to put you in a cage." She said. Dr. Banner slammed his fists down on the table. "Stop lying to me!" He shouted. Natasha pulled out her gun from under the table and pointed it up at his face. He slid his hands back and stood up straight. "I'm sorry that was mean.I just wanted to see what you'd do. Why don't we do this the easy way where you don't use that and the other guy doesn't make a mess. Okay?" He asked. "Natasha?" The tension was high for a few moments. Natasha put her hand to her ear. "Stand down. We're good here." Dr. Banner smirked. "Just you and me?"
