Chapter 8: Germany and Loki

        We boarded the plane not entirely knowing what to expect with this Loki. An hour later we were right above the place Loki was sighted. I have to be honest that between the plane ride and the upcoming (non-avoiding) fight I was a little nervous. I mean, don't get me wrong. I've been in fights, been tortured, and have faced really big fears on a daily basis but I have never first handedly been up against a "god" before.

        We started getting a view of the street. "Cap and Jess. I'll drop you off right here and I will come down with the ship when you have engaged contact with the hostile force." Nat rolled her eyes when she said this. "Jess don't pitch a fit. You're going to have to parachute down or have Steve hold you on the way." She said winking. "Or I'm sure you'd rather it was Stark" She muttered. I stuck my tongue out at her. "No offense Steve but I am going to stick with the parachute." Nat just laughed. I bitterly strapped on the parachute and prepared myself to jump.

        Steve grabbed my hand and squeezed it right before we jumped. I had to bite my lip to keep from screaming. We jumped right into Loki's chaos. Steve quickly raised his shield and deflected a blast from his scepter. Steve had landed in front of an old man who was standing while others kneeled. I landed right next to a terrified couple. The blast from Loki's scepter deflected on Steve's shield and hit Loki in the stomach. I stepped back and let Steve take the lead while I tried to get my parachute off and figure out how there were so many Loki's around. Steve strutted up to Loki saying "You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everyone else we ended up disagreeing." Loki's eyes burned with anger. "The soldier." He spat. "The man out of time." I stood up and sneered. "I don't think he's the one out of time." I snarled at him. He turned and looked at me. I stood my ground. He had an evil glint to his eye. Just then Nat flew the pane into sight. He looked up as Nat's voice came on the intercom. "Loki drop the weapon and stand down." He shot a blast at the plane and Nat skillfully maneuvered out of the way. Steve took this chance and threw his shield at Loki. It hit him and bounced off his chest. Steve went up to Loki with a punch. Loki retaliated by hitting his scepter to Steve's shield. While they are fighting I sneak up behind Loki and grab hold of his scepter. He looks up at me and I realize my mistake. He turns it to my stomach and shoots. "AGGGGHHHHH" I scream as I'm blasted backwards. This is why I don't get in the middle of things.

        Dazed I lift my head when I hear ACDC's Shoot to Thrill play through the speakers of the plane. Next thing I know Iron Man has shown up and blasts Loki's ass backwards. He points his repulser beams at Loki and says "Make your move reindeer games." Loki holds up his hands and his helmet and scepter disappear. I mumble a weak "Yay." as Steve and Nat get him on the plane. Tony comes over and offers a hand. "Thanks." I stutter as I wince at the pain. I'm going to have one hell of a bruise tomorrow. "Come on Jess. You okay?" He asks chuckling. "Yea I'm fine. Stupid mistake. It's the damn flying before battle thing." He laughs and we walk over to the plane. "More flying. Just for you Jess." I roll my eyes. I was never going to get used to this. Maybe it won't be as bad with Stark on board. I was going to make sure to sit next to him.

I will) I am trying out putting paragraphs in to make it easier to read. Helping? Or not. Just let me know. You guys are seriously awesome for putting up with me.
